Feeling shite about myself. Tips for feeling gorgeous and fresh and alive?

Ugh, I look old and knackered and worn out at the moment.

A combination of health problems, stress, being overtired and generally woe is me. I feel and look baggy and shit. But! I'm going on holiday in 2 weeks.

Tips for feeling and looking glowy and healthy and amazing? I'm having hair done on Tuesday then a facial next weekend.

Nails and fake tan? I don't mean talons, just a good mani/pedi, and there's nothing like a bit of fake tan to liven things up. I'm wary of the Oompa Loompa look but one coat of St Tropez usually looks good

I felt the same all summer and then read a thread on here where a woman talked about how brilliant tanning drops had made her feel - just having legs that didn’t look like old knickers. So I followed suit and it did give me a boost.

Where are you going?

Is it time for a nice new dress or a swimsuit for whatever shape you are?

I recently got a new dress (I don’t normally wear one) and I feel like it’s woken me up a bit.

Thank you guys. Going to Southern Europe so it'll still be mid 20's hopefully. I have bought a new dress, but hadn't thought about tanning or nails.

I can add on nails when I go for my facial! Never heard of tanning drops??

Could you squeeze in some yoga? I always find that when I can do 15 minutes of yoga a day I have a buzz about me,feel stronger and carry myself much more assertively.

I’ve been off work sick with tonsillitis, and looking absolutely disgusting - grey spotty skin, bleary eyes, plus a week of lying about in my pyjamas and my glasses on. I went back to work today, so yesterday I did:

Got my eyebrows threaded
Did a clay mask, then a sheet mask
Bit of fake tan in my night cream
Painted my nails

Today I whacked on a load of glowy products, red lipstick, nice perfume, and a big smile, plus a good outfit. It helped a bit!

Face masks and acids.

If you get shellac nails they always make me feel more glam. They speak off but they last weeks and dont ruin your nails like extensions.
I get pink sparkly ones sometimes. Reminds me of being a carefree child loving glitter

I need to get the old fake tan out, it does make me look better.

TigerJoy · 14/09/2019 01:19

All over spray tan. I only did it once but i pulled the only single man at the wedding! Mostly down to my added confidence I think! Do it just before you go, much better than DIY fake tan (although that's an acceptable second if you can't face spending the money)

NationMcKinley · 14/09/2019 01:28

Drink loads of water
Take apple cider vinegar capsules (I know, I know but I was super sceptical until a friend raved about them when I was v drunk. One amazon prime order later and I think they are ace. I’ve had so many comments on my skin)

Ultimately, the holiday itself will do you a lot of good. Try and have a fab time and then come home glowing and gorgeous!

I really hope you have an amazing holiday Smile

GhostCurry · 14/09/2019 06:45

I echo tigerjoy. Skip the DIY fake tan and go directly for a spray tan. The result is worlds apart from anything you can achieve at home and I guarantee you will feel amazing.

Rarfy · 14/09/2019 06:47

My suggestion was going to be hair. If you don't already, try and wash it more often and style it. I feel sooooo much better when my hair is done even if the rest of me is a mess. Adding brow maintenance and nails even if just a clean gel also helps me massively!

Get some exercise, like the yoga suggested by a pp or a walk or jog. The fresh air and endorphins will really boost you mentally.
