Since I had my kids 11 years ago my weight has gone up and my interest in clothes diminished to 'whatever fitted' and 'easy to wash and wear'. Also working from home for my other half has meant I had no interest in clothes.

I have recently been actively dieting and have so far lost 3 stone and am now a size 14/16. As a result I am now rediscovering my figure and most of my clothes are in the charity bag or rag bag! I have some clothes from my pre kids weight but mostly 'work clothes' so not suitable for my current lifestyle of school runs and being at home.

Can I ask for your go to shops for a 45 year old who wants to look good and on trend without spending a fortune (I am still losing weight so don't want to spend lots now but would like a few staple items to tie me over).

I’m 43 and shop online at Debenhams, Next (they both sell branded stuff too) and in person I often go to Outfit as they have a selection of shops .

Im 45 & a size 12, with a bit of a podge on my stomach.

I go to Topshop for T.Shirts, Jeans & nightwear.

Hush online for joggers, harem pants & tops.

Tesco for amazing elasticated waist jeggings for £12-£14.
Then my tops fit really nice over them as there is no button or belt straps to poke out.

I tend to stick to greys, blacks, navy & white in plain print. I feel smarter.

I used to wear florals but look like a bag lady.

I seem to be in flip flops or Nike air max for the feet!

I also look online for photo ideas.

These are the type of thing I copy like Smile

Its a bit safe, but I feel confident in them as (they are plain) there is nothing to worry about.

Hush

I love their joggers.

Glad you're starting to feel more like yourself!

Have you looked at Warehouse? They have some lovely stuff these days, on trend but 40something appropriate. Uniqlo is good and great quality for the money, they long ago replaced Gap for me as the go-to for basics, especially trousers/ jeans and knitwear.
