Long line tops

Just wanting to see if anybody knew of anywhere that sells nice, plain long line tops, that are easy to wear casually but could maybe work with jeans and heels too? I have a big tummy and chunky thighs so I like hiding them under long tops but am finding them so hard to come by. I have a few cheap ones from years ago that I am wearing all the time and would love to add a few more to the mix. Am pretty clueless with style so like to just keep things plain-ish? Any suggestions would be welcome!

Fat face often have a lot of long line tops but they’re a bit on the expensive side!

Hush do a long line layering top for £25.

H and M sometimes have them in their cotton basics section for around £12.

I have loads from Mantaray

Joe Browns

Sometimes Primark and Matalan

The Hush “wide” top is amazing. Not too much material but drapes beautifully. Wearing mine now for work in a professional environment, with red lippy and silver jewellery.

I'm liking to look of the wide top, Writers but it says cold hand wash only. Do you put it in the machine?

peridito · 11/09/2019 08:59

This is something I'd like - but would need to be petite as I'm fat and short .

BikeRunSki · 11/09/2019 09:02

Gap, online. They do many of their tops in a “Tall” size, which is just like long line of you are under about 5’10”.

La Redoute might be worth a look ?

Second Mantaray at Debenhams

Jiggy16 · 11/09/2019 13:24

Great thanks guys, really like that hush one, will have a look at mantaray too. I'm a real pain with these things, I have an unreasonable phobia/hatred of buttons so shirts are out. Just want something I can wear running around with the kids but also could wear it out for a few drinks! Nothing too clingy either, unfortunately don't have the figure for tight things! I

Try Apricot, I've done well there.

glitterandpigtails · 11/09/2019 16:24

Try Mama Rules they have long stylish tops. Including a long floaty one and some slightly warmer ones which are plain but with cool modern details. They are designed as maternity and nursing tops so have more room but definitely can be worn beyond these stages.

SoftBlocks · 11/09/2019 16:26

Hush and Long Tall Sally.

Inforthelonghaul · 11/09/2019 16:51

I wash any delicate Hush tops on a delicate wash and so far all is ok and that includes a couple of their wide tops.

Jiggy16 · 11/09/2019 19:59

Can I ask what the hush top sizing is like? Have never bought from there before. I am usually a 10 or 12 depending on the fit so not sure of that would be a small or medium?

A Hush small is 10-12. As a standard 10 I wear extra small in the wide tops. I agree that they are lovely and I wash mine in a laundry bag in with the other clothes and the still look great from last autum winter

TheOutside · 12/09/2019 09:50

You're Clothing if you're size 16 and over, I've not yet had a top from there that wants long line which is exactly how I like them, not quite tunics/smocks but not riding up as soon as you move. Prints are hit and miss but I do think they cater to a lot of styles from new fashion to pieces my Mum would wear.
