So I've been using the microplane foot file - and it's been a revelation in terms of how effective it is in getting rid of layers of skin. Streets ahead of any other foot file and I've tried loads.

However i still have a few large cracks - which cant be filed effectively without breaking skin.

I need a cream or balm or something similar to really penetrate and moisturise the heel. I've tried working hands (foot one) , flexitol. Give me your super duper product recs. Maybe even something medical?

User footner socks to get rid of the excess skin that is cracking, then once it's gone, use the flexitol to keep it supple. Filing just aggravates the skin and it all comes straight back.

Sorry should have said footner did nothing for my cracks. Flexitol nothing different for me.

CCS cream applied nightly and socks left on. Apply in the day if you have time/inclination too.

I've a 4yr old Ronnie. I love his name! There is also another boy at school called Ronnie but his full name is actually Ronald

Seconding CCS cream

I also saw a podiatrist who got the worst of the dead/dry/hard skin build up first

CCS cream morning and night. File daily. No open heel shoes. Keep going for a good 4 weeks.

You need to get the highest % urea flexitol, I got a 30% one and it made a difference in one day. They have it on amazon

Brilliant. Never tried CCS cream so will give it a good go. Thank you!

What's CCS cream please?

Dairymilkfordinner · 10/09/2019 21:27

Heel Genius by Soap and Glory. Put it on every morning after showering or at bedtime. Bloody brilliant stuff. Much better than any of the more 'medical' looking creams.

Rather than a file try Newton's chiropodist sponge (Amazon). I bought a boots own version& you have to soak your feet & then use the pumice type stone & it works wonders. Mine were so thick I was pulling bits off & making mine sore but this has helped greatly: excited to use the authentic Newton's one tomorrow
