and i'm rubbish at putting outfits together .
i need a top to go with this skirt . can anyone find me one ? i don't want to return it as i like it ( feel all floaty and fairy like in my deluded head !) and i already own nude shoes which i'm hoping will be ok .

MaryLennoxsScowl · 10/09/2019 19:55

Plain black or nude silk camisole?

princessbear80 · 10/09/2019 19:55

How about a silk cami?
Something like these...

lancashirebornandbred · 10/09/2019 20:16

What about a nude or cream bodysuit? You could go for a sleeve then, maybe a wrap style?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 10/09/2019 20:23

Cream cami and a blush/rose coloured jacket?

It's beautiful but seems very expensive. Then again, if you love it then you should definitely not return it!

PeachMelba78 · 10/09/2019 20:25

I have just bought this top, I would wear it tucked in to the skirt, with a jacket that toned with the skirt, probably navy.

Oranges75 · 10/09/2019 20:25

A very fine knit - polo neck or short sleeve sweater depending on weather

thefootofourstairs · 10/09/2019 20:31

it is waaay more expensive than i would normally spend but it just spoke to me Grin
if nothing works i will return it and buy a dress .

Oh I love that skirt, gorgeous. Red might work, if it's not an orangey red, or navy. I'd go for a short/slim camisole I think. Nude colour would work but a bit all-over pastel imho (you might want that look!).

nzeire · 10/09/2019 20:36

I hate skirts for this very reason! And I’ve done the same, found a gorgeous one I couldn’t resist! Quite similar to yours!

For casual, I’m going to do a half tuck grey T-shirt
For summer holiday day, a white vest top
For going out a fine knit jumper (lonely or ruby if nz)

Good luck, it’s gorgeous!

VioletCharlotte · 10/09/2019 20:37

That skirt is beautiful, but I'm not sure it would work for a wedding. It looks fab with a T-shirt and trainers, but I think smart shoes and a cami would make it look a bit frumpy and old fashioned (sorry!). Can you keep it and get something else? You'd get loads of wear out if it if you kept it for casual, it would look great with a denim or biker jacket, trainers or boots.

inthekitchensink · 10/09/2019 20:38

Orangey silk camisole type thing was what I was thinking?

please somebody help me , running out of time
inthekitchensink · 10/09/2019 20:40

But that is a ruthless skirt - pretty but I couldn’t make it look good unless I was slim hipped & nipped of waist.

XingMing · 10/09/2019 20:56

I think I'd want to style it with two close-fitted tops, the top one sheer but with sleeves, so your arms are visible, and one for modesty. If you could pick up two of the colours in the skirt, it would read as an outfit.

TruffleShuffles · 10/09/2019 21:03

I would wear it with a white t shirt but one that looks a less casual than the one it’s styled with in the link and pair it with a chunky statement necklace.

Ponks · 10/09/2019 21:08

Agree with the fine knit suggestion - and I'd go for black and then wear with boots.

cathyandclare · 10/09/2019 21:24

I don't know what your colouring is, but would something like https://www.whistles.com/women/clothing/knitwear/square-neck-knit-30106.html?cgid=KnitwearClothinggWW&dwvarsquare-neck-knit-301066color=NUDE#start=0 Whistles knit]] work? They do it on wine too, it's difficult to see the colours of the print on the screen.

3dogs2cats · 10/09/2019 21:38

No no no to that top. Very fine knit in cream or blush, or pick out the darker colour. It’s a beautiful skirt, but no more frills and furbelows. Leather jacket would also be good or something a bit 70s in fat cord.
