Sulphate free hair masks

So did a thread on here earlier this year and asked about sulphate free shampoo/conditioner..
I'm currently using the OGX biotin and collagen range. I've found that since using this, I can go longer without washing my hair and it does feel generally a lot better.

However.. I'm now looking for a sulphate free hair mask as I don't think that OGX do a hair mask.

Any recommendations of what people have used, tried and tested would be much appreciated.

I lied! I was looking on Superdrug website whilst writing this but after looking on the Boots website, I've found that OGX do hair masks.

I've also seen that the She Butter hair mask from BodyShop has some good reviews.

So any recommendations on the OGX or Body Shop hair mask are much appreciated ❤️

I have extremely dry ends and I put this on my dry hair at night (just the ends) and rinse it out in the morning, then shampoo and condition as normal. It’s made a real difference!

Are you also looking for a silicone free hair mask? Or are you ok with silicone in your products?

@Greenvalleymama ideally no silicone either but whatever really.. just want more natural stuff for my hair as I'm starting to dye it more than usual that's all so want to have more natural products to use on it to hopefully help the condition of my hair

The mask I linked to is great for coloured hair - mine has plenty of bleach in the ends and needs a really good treatment to bring it back to life!

I used an Aussie one at the weekend, just one of the sachets and my hair feels awesome! I really need to start doing it weekly and sleeping with it in maybe x

I was just thinking if you use a sulfate free shampoo but continue to use products with silicone in, the silicone will stay in your hair, which could make it heavy and greasy looking. Silicone is not water soluble, it needs sulfates to wash it out of your hair. Essentially, it might be worth going silicone free too!

I have used Shea Moisture and Cantu masks in the past, but now just use my normal conditioner with a glug of almond oil added into it. Seems to work just as well!

This Garnier one is silicone and sulfate free (the whole hair food range is I think), and it's half price at the moment in Boots!

@JustBeenNosey I don’t know how many there are but I’ve used papaya and banana, prefer the banana I think. I’m following the curly girl method so sometimes it’s the only thing I use to wash my hair and it works brilliantly

My hair was naturally curly when I was little and I've been thinking about trying to curly girl method to see if I can get my curls back but I've tried looking online and can't figure out how to do it 😂😂😂

@JustBeenNosey it can get really complicated with products etc but personally I just use conditioner with approved ingredients to wash, a leave in applied whilst wet, only brush when wet with conditioner in and not using any heat to dry or style

The body shop shea butter one is my holy grail, makes my thick but dry end hair shine like a beacon and soooo soft, I love it!

Also.. is it best to use the hair masks on damp or dry hair? I'll be planning on leaving on as long as possible.. not too sure I leaving it On overnight as I don't want my pillows to go all weird? 😂

And I've read somewhere as long that it's best to use a mask on clean hair, so shampoo first and then use the mask.
Whereas I used to use the mask, wash it off and then shampoo it? 🤷🏼‍♀️🙄

I would shampoo, then use the mask for an hour or so, wash off and style as usual. I'm going to buy the hair food today and give it a whirl.
