Seasalt Janelle coat- a cheaper alternative?

Or is the real thing worth it? Hoping to lose some weight in a parallel universe so not sure if it's worth the £160? Are there any cheaper alternatives?

Fully waterproof, breathable and wind proof and longline. I think the only cheaper would be Mountain Warehouse or TK Maxx. The former would not be of the same standard

Thanks for the reply master. I think I know in my heart that the quality for less money will not be as good, but have never spent so much on a coat before which is why I'm waivering! I think i'll just go for it.

They come up in the sale. Also an outlet at the Clarke’s Village in Somerset.
I have one and it keeps me dry and warm.

I have been Seasalt devotee but like you I am losing weight so I bought this to tide me over but I actually prefer it (I have got the khaki one)

Megsheeren... did you order your usual size in the regatta coat?
Seems a great bargain!

Plump82 · 09/09/2019 17:32

What size are you needing? I'm selling my Janelle after losing weight. Its a brilliant coat. Fully waterproof and a great length.

MyCatsHat · 09/09/2019 18:36

They do come up on eBay sometimes. I want one too but currently have a craghoppers one that’s pretty good. They are around £120 but mine was half price at Go Outdoors. here

Megsheeran · 09/09/2019 19:34

@greyboot - Yes I found the Regatta coat true to size

cardamoncoffee · 09/09/2019 20:50

Plump I would need a 22 probably as I like it to be loose. I'm after a navy one.

I got mine for £99 from John Lewis sale, online. Best. Coat. Everrrrrr.

Plump82 · 09/09/2019 22:05

Mine is a 20 and its pretty big. Bear that in mind if you're buying one. Mine is a real colour.

Plump82 · 09/09/2019 22:06

*teal !

Osc70 · 10/09/2019 06:58

Plump82 how much are you wanting for your coat, if the other poster isn’t interested I might be.

mastertomsmum · 10/09/2019 13:53

Lazy Jacks clothing might be worth a look

mrssmiling · 10/09/2019 15:06

I bought a Seasalt coat last year - really warm, and properly waterproof.
Not cheap I agree, but I know it will last for several winters if not more...
and in freezing weather it is worth every penny!
Only suggestion is subscribing to Seasalt mailings, and also asking customer service if there might be any Autumn offers. They do not offer regular discounts afaik, but there used to be around 15% with new ranges/catalogues.

Plump82 · 13/09/2019 18:16

Osc70 ive sent you a wee PM

Azura2019 · 13/09/2019 18:23

Worth every penny, I pad about 80/90 for mine, had I known about how amazing they are, I'd have paid full price. I love the shape of them as well.

RingtheBells · 13/09/2019 19:49

I have a couple, both bought from Next Clearance for about £70-£80, I get a lot of Seasalt stuff from Next Clearance. Best coats I have had
