Anyone seen any hair rollers which aren't uniformly round?

I have slightly wavy hair (shortish bob) and want to encourage the waves/kinks.
I was thinking rollers might be the way to go as they seem like they would be quicker than tongs (quicker in that I can put them in and let my hair mostly air-dry while I get on with other things).
But I don't like the uniform curls it looks like you get with rollers, as I like a more tousled/kinky curl look.
Has anyone seen any rollers for this type of curl? As I have short hair I want fairly small diameter ones too.

I used to use 2 or 3 bendy rollers bunched together, now I just do 2 rope braids overnight and it looks pretty much the same look.

I haven't got enough hair for rope braids you plus I want to get volume in at the roots too (my hair is very fine)
