I have a ball (more a dinner dance - dress code is cocktail dresses) tonight. My question is do I have to take a clutch/ formal bag? I would really like to take some foldaway ballet flats to walk home in and clutch is way too small. Can I take a smart handbag instead? I have to say it doesn't look amazing but equally I always end up just putting a clutch down because it annoys me
