Help me find a maxi (or midi) dress

A floral one, in autumny colours I think. With long sleeves and I think a collar / buttons rather than round necked

I’m large of chest and not waifish

I’d prefer not polyester but budget is limited.

I’ve looked at the usual places, but hoping someone could suggest somewhere I might not have thought of

Thank you 😊

There's a dress in Primark almost exactly as you've described. If you have instagram, look on their page as they put a picture of it up today.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/09/2019 16:25

I got a great one from Fatface last year, which I've literally worn until it fell to pieces. Might be worth a look, but their fabrics are nowhere near as good as they used to be.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/09/2019 16:26

Currently considering this one although it's a bit Greek Widow.

PinkOboe · 07/09/2019 16:30

Thanks Plump, yes that one looks great, I’ll have to try to get to a Primark. Such a shame they don’t do online shopping. Our nearest is about 40 minutes away

How about this? Unless it’s a bit too ‘Margot from the seventies’ www.oliverbonas.com/fashion/paisley-print-black-midi-dress-243979

PinkOboe · 07/09/2019 18:18

I think the gathered neck on that one might accentuate my bosom, I hadn’t looked on Oliver bonas though so thanks for the reminder to look there

Margot Ledbetter has long been a style icon for me actually, I do love a jumpsuit 😂

Margot Leadbetter could teach us all a thing or two about style Wink
They also have a Zebra Print Pink Midi Dress which sounds hideous but is actually really nice ‘in the flesh’ x

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/09/2019 18:27

Navy

PinkOboe · 07/09/2019 21:13

I really like that one @RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie thank you. Might order it to try

If you have a store near you, I'd recommend nipping in and touching it. Some of their fabrics are nice and some are vile, and you can never tell from the product description which it's going to be!

Just realised the first link just takes you to Joe Browns homepage...I'll try again.

Zinnia · 07/09/2019 21:34

I keep seeing this one in Monsoon, if I didn't have something similar already I'd probably buy it myself

PinkOboe · 07/09/2019 21:40

Love that next one. I’ve literally never bought anything from next. Exciting, thanks for these suggestions.

OP posts:
PinkOboe · 07/09/2019 21:41

Oh all sold out in most sizes :(

OP posts:
Zinnia · 07/09/2019 21:42

OK for some reason the Monsoon website really not playing ball, and I can't seem to post pics either, but the "Mazi"dress on their website is very nice and looks to fit your bill!

PinkOboe · 07/09/2019 21:46

Love this but £169 which is too spendy

PinkOboe · 07/09/2019 21:54

I really like the shape of that one @Zinnia but I’ve grudgingly accepted black makes me look shit

OP posts:
PinkOboe · 07/09/2019 21:56

The joe brown one is nice. I don’t know that shop. Are sizes / quality good?

OP posts:
ThatsNotMyUnicorn · 07/09/2019 22:02

They are usually true to size and also good quality as long as you wash on 30 degrees otherwise I had a dress my DH washed on 40 and it's faded quite a bit. They have a store at Meadow Hall, if you're close enough to visit, if not they do free returns on online orders.

This one might be perfect but only Xs on website

Annasgirl · 07/09/2019 23:21

Go to Zara or buy online. I just bought some dresses like you described there yesterday. They are fab. Midi- maxi length, winter floral. I had seen one of them on 2 people recently and fell in love. Tried one on in Zara and it was just like the ones I had seen. So I proceeded to buy it and two others in the same style but different print.
