Tights that don't itch for DD

Can anybody recommend some comfortable black tights for my DD? She says the school ones I got from Asda are so itchy she can't concentrate at school! She has got sensitive skin but also has some sensory issues. She's almost 12 but tall so would look at age 13/14 or adult 6. Thanks for any suggestions.

I would try Snag Tights. I think they do a school range now too.

Everything for eczema do tights. Nice non itchy cotton ones .

Do you reckon it's static rather than itching? I used to get this and it can be massively improved by wiping a tumble dryer sheet over your legs once your tights are on and also the inside of your skirt. It sounds crazy but I used to be driven to distraction by the static feeling in the plastic chairs!

I had this issue and Snag Tights were great

My DD doesn't like cotton tights, but gets on with microfiber ones. H&M do them. She's 5 but in age 9 clothes Blush, so I think in the same size range as your DD.

Turn them inside out.

The elastin makes the inside far more allergy triggering, so if you turn them inside out the fiber next to her skin is the cotton.

Thanks very much for the suggestions. I've ordered a pair of the snag ones and the eczema ones. Smile

If that doesn’t work for her, would she be able to get away with light-weight leggings instead? DD wears them instead of tights with DM style ankle boots and you can’t tell.

You need tights with as high a cotton level as possible. I had to import tights from Germany for my DD - Falke I think was the German brand - at vast expense, but she couldn't bear wearing anything else. Search 100% cotton tights on the internet, you might find them on Amazon. Or M&S do cotton rich tights in adult sizes which might be ok. Alternatively there are websites like Cotton Comfort or Eco Outfitters which specialise in cotton rich clothing for eczema sufferers and have children's tights. It is an absolute nightmare sourcing school clothing for children with sensitive skin which is made of natural fibres. Good luck!

Thanks Epwell and SuperFurryDoggy. School have said she can wear leggings and socks (as she did in primary school) but boots aren't allowed and she doesn't want to stand out as just starting year 7.
She wore trousers today and was happy with those so that's something.

TU school tights in the 5 pack are nice and soft, they’re the only ones my daughter will wear
