Wasn't going to buy any boots this year... but then, having scoffed at the hiking boot thing last winter, suddenly developed a need strong desire for a pair of not-Grensons.

Have the same size feet as you @TheClitterati, so options are a bit limited - weighing up the M&S ones @TileFloors posted upthread vs these from Next (purchase slightly more justifiable in brown as I have about 4 pairs of black ankle boots). The Next ones come in black as well.
However, I spied what look like stupendous brown hikers at the M&S season preview on Instagram this week so do I hang on for those??

Ooh by the way @happytobemrsg I have those Chelsea boots (in black, inevitably) from last year and they are brilliant.

Ah, after some sleuthing it seems the boots I glimpsed are these. Those heels are not for me so it's back to plan A!

I have enough ankle boots (although still love the buckly ones so slightly tempted by some of those) but need to replace my tan knee high boots I bought almost 20 years ago. They have been resoled several times but are beyond saving now. Tempted by these from Duo boots.

Zinnia · 07/09/2019 00:06

Ooh I love Duo boots. Those are gorgeous @CountFosco

StarkintheSouth · 07/09/2019 09:28

I just got these biker boots from M&S. Super comfy can’t wait to try and style them with dresses (pray that I don’t look like a Shetland pony when I do so)

Flower30 · 07/09/2019 10:15

@Zinnia I love those M&S ones. We’re there any further details? Release date? Price? Real leather?

Dangerfloof · 07/09/2019 19:23

@Flower30 those are fab, and they do similar with a splash pattern. Gorgeous. I want them but wow the price 😨

Swishyswash · 07/09/2019 19:35

I've just bought these.
Very comfortable and a great colour.

ItsLeviOsanotLeviosA · 07/09/2019 19:41

@CountFosco those Duo boots are beautiful. I’ve got page saved and just need to stop pretending I won’t buy them!

Nanalisa60 · 07/09/2019 19:52

I’m not I’m going to get mine all out polish them get the ones with heels re-heeled, I have about 4pairs knee high boots and about 10 pairs ankle boots!! I will probably get a few new pairs in the Christmas sales!!

ElspethFlashman · 07/09/2019 19:59

Omg DeadbutDelicious I used to own those New Rock boots 20 years ago!

I felt like such an arse kicker in them. I had my mini skirt, my opaque tights and my boots. At night I'd wear fishnets and feel like Riotgirrl.

They ripped my heels to bits mind. 😂

Zinnia · 07/09/2019 20:16

@Flower30 they are online here and were in-store this afternoon when I dashed to Marble Arch to get the last pair of the flat black ones in a size 8! Grin

stayingaliveisawayoflife · 07/09/2019 21:48

I don't think I can justify any new boots!
I have:
7 pairs of DMs
2 pairs of Cat boots
A pair of mukluk boots
2 pairs of hotter boots and a pair of black leather ankle boots.
2 pairs of uggs!

I have owned these for years but really I don't need any more and I don't have space to put them. Really liked a couple on this thread though.

TileFloors · 08/09/2019 08:58

@Zinnia and others: the flat M&S hiking boots I posted upthread also come in brown suede:

SunsetBeetch · 08/09/2019 12:27

Oh I like those TileFloors

At this rate I'm never going to make up my mind, or I'm going to be skint Smile

Flower30 · 08/09/2019 13:13

@Dangerfloof Grenson have 20% off today! Still expensive but not quite as expensive!

BrokenLogs · 08/09/2019 13:34

I'm a season out (in Aus) but I'd like a new pair of boots for next winter, some great links here.

EraOfTheGrey · 08/09/2019 14:27

@stayingaliveisawayoflife Don't think I've ever come across anyone who can match me for the number of boots owned.
I have:
11 pairs of DM boots
2 sheepskin Uggs
2 leather biker boot Uggs
2 pairs of hiking boots
2 pairs of leather Duo knee high boots
These are the DMs I bought last year. I have them in brown and black, I always seem to buy multiple colours if I like the style. I also have both cherry red & black DMs original 8 holes.
My name is Era and I'm a boot junkie.

Dangerfloof · 08/09/2019 14:27

@Flower30, I cant see anything on the website, was it a code via email? I haven't signed up yet but I will.

Its these www.grenson.com/uk/nanette-womens-hiker-boots-in-navy-splash-print-leather.html
I think they are gorgeous

Flower30 · 08/09/2019 15:29

@Dangerfloof very nice! It was an email with code (BACKTOWORK20)

ImAShowPony · 08/09/2019 15:33

I got these Skechers. They're a bit old lady boffin boot but so warm and comfortable. Great with 7/8 jeans.

Bobbybobbins · 08/09/2019 15:46

@Laska2Meryls

Thanks so much for the discount code - just bought a lovely pair of boots!

AnnaNimmity · 08/09/2019 16:17

@Flower30 damn you and your Grenson code! I was doing so well on #secondhandseptember happily waiting for October to buy much coveted Grensons.

Oh well. I'm weak and I clearly care less about the environment than my feet.

Anyway, I traditionally obsess about boots all winter and always justify the need for more. My dog ate one of my heeled work boots so I may need another pair of those (although I'm not at all in a formal environment now) and I'm also coveting these although they are way too much for me

I'm also liking these - going for the Toast/plumo look this winter maybe.

Flower30 · 08/09/2019 16:24

@AnnaNimmity which Grenson boots? Sorry, not sorry!!
