New hoover recommendations

My hoover has given up the ghost. I've had it 12 years, it's a Sebo. I am looking for something more lightweight which is good on hard floors and carpets and preferably will shampoo carpets too?

Gtech, Shark and Dysons all spring to mind, but i am bewildered by the choice. How do cordless ones work?

Please give me your recommendations. Son has asthma and I am beginning to wonder if I have a dust mite allergy so something hypoallergenic would be great.

I love a good vacuum cleaner. I have a Miele, Shark, Sebo, GTech and a Robovac. The GTech is great for a quick clean up but wouldn’t replace a ‘proper’ machine. shark are very, very efficient but I find the attachments fiddly to switch around and the head is small simit is good for stairs but timeconsuming for larger areas. Like you I find the Sebo heavy.

Overall, on balance, if could only keep one I’d keep the Miele (and probably try and smuggle the Robovac as well}

You’d think with all these vacuums I’d have the cleanest house on the street but I seem to enjoy acquiring them much more than I enjoy using them.

@OMGshefoundmeout five hoovers?!? That's crazy haha!

We have a shark and love it.

Shark lift away. Love it!

I know, it’s ridiculous. I keep hoping if I buy one that I love it will encourage me to use them more often but it doesn’t work!

I have a new Dyson & love that it has no lead, so easy for whizzing up & down the stairs. Came with loads of attachments but I pretty much stick to two

Love my Shark. I looked in to cordless but the amount of time you have to charge it for to only about 20 minutes use put me off. I have this model- sharkclean.eu/uk/product/shark-duoclean-lift-away-vacuum-cleaner-nv700ukt/?gclsrc=aw.ds&&gclid=Cj0KCQjwwb3rBRDrARIsALR3XeaCEC8j9XHsMzVP5XwwYm5PHGyquW-Z-reDVW6_JvO5TxRFs94hxwcaAvSuEALw_wcB. You just push a switch to change it from hardwood to carpet
