I had plans to be fabulous on my return to work tomorrow and bought some gorgeous buttony Joe Brown boots off eBay. They arrived today and...

They're too big! Sad

I could cry. I feel so stoopid! I saw wide fit and thought I'd hit the jackpot and it turns out they're EXTRA wide.

Someone tell me I'm not alone in misreading sizings occasionally?

Do they look ok? You could try wearing thick socks, like fluffy bed socks, or doubling up on ordinary socks.

Scruffalicious · 03/09/2019 18:22

I had hoped the same when I realised, but they don't. There's a huge gap between my calf and the boot, and too baggy around the ankle. I'll grab a pic once I've put the sausages in.

*sausages in oven, not my boots.

Shylo · 03/09/2019 18:25

I really wouldn’t try padding them out with sausages @scruffalicious, you’ll smell rank by the end of the day Grin

Shylo · 03/09/2019 18:25

Phew lol

Have you tried square sausage/Lorne?
Sorry, couldn't resist, I'll slink off now...Blush

Scruffalicious · 03/09/2019 18:32

You lot are awful. No support at all! Wink

GooodMythicalMorning · 03/09/2019 18:33

oh no, that is too big isnt it. Sad

TheFutureMrsB · 03/09/2019 18:35

What about with the big chunky socks you can fold over at the top? May give a bit more padding? Grasping here Smile

MrsPellegrinoPetrichor · 03/09/2019 18:35

Are boots meant to be tight against your leg these days? I think they look fine. Nice boots.

TheFutureMrsB · 03/09/2019 18:37

This type of thing I mean

Nooooo my boooooots!
FeltCarrot · 03/09/2019 18:37

I have fat calves. They might fit me😉

MoltonSilver · 03/09/2019 18:40

I don't know how much it costs but it's possible to have boots taken in.

AreWeAnywhereNear · 03/09/2019 18:43

I have fat calves, if they're a size 7 I'll buy them off you Wink

Scruffalicious · 03/09/2019 18:44

...they actually ARE a size 7! Is selling things allowed on MN?

OP posts:
AreWeAnywhereNear · 03/09/2019 18:46

No way!

Maybe it's fate Grin

Scruffalicious · 03/09/2019 18:59

AreWeAnywhereNear maybe...

If you genuinely fancy them, drop me a PM and we can look into it. That would make my day!

OP posts:
FuriousVexation · 03/09/2019 19:01

I'm a 5.5 and there's no fucking way they would fit me.

Just put them on ebay with accurate measurements.

Scruffalicious · 03/09/2019 19:13

Yeah, if no-one here calls dibs on them I will!

OP posts:
StCharlotte · 04/09/2019 00:02

Simply be will have the narrower ones.

Scruffalicious · 08/09/2019 19:20

Okay, they're back on eBay! Hoping to have some more luck with low-heeled brogues, polka-dot shoelaces and some self-adhesive fabric...

travailtotravel · 08/09/2019 22:43

I bought these last year as loved them. None of them fitted ... so disappointed.

Jacksback · 09/09/2019 09:09

Have been looking at upping my skin care to include acids , their price range is ok ( would pay more if something is fabulous) but I don’t know where to start
I have mature normal skin , but I also have sun damage pigmentation ( from sun bathing back in the day ) strictly factor 50 now
Talk me through the acids please
