School Trousers, DD, 14- Where From?!!

We use to get them from New look in Women’s part, but they don’t have the same ones in this time. Dd is quite ‘stocky’ built, gorgeous with it. They have to be black and can not be skinny, no skinny jeans or leggings. She should be wearing the trousers they stipulate from the retailers but DD couldn’t get a pair to fit her, they wouldn’t fit around her thighs or bum and going up in size wasn’t an option as they were ridiculously long & massive in the waist. So we can’t get hold of these ones from New Look anymore, they were just plain black womens trousers, like workwear. Straight leg, yeah they were a little bit loose on the leg & dd hated it but it kept school happy. I just don’t know where else to look. The material is 100% polyester, basically after washing them I rarely had to iron! She’s tried the girls section in Asda & New Look but nothing. She doesn’t want mega ‘ankle wafters’ as she calls them, I call them bootleg!

would these be ok?

Buy big from the stipulated retailer and have them tailored down? It might be expensive but there’s a good chance at 14 she won’t grow any further so they may well last to the end of school

Mine got hers from M&S she is not stocky but not overly slim either she has hips and thighs but in the 8-10 size range. They are the school ones.

Our school doesn't actually have official girls trousers so we have been able to shop around.

Sleep - those look fine to me but dd isn’t keen on the seam bit going down the middle!

Gemme - good idea, may well do that if can’t find any others.

RB68 - I will have a look at M&S, I didn’t think of them!

Thanks everyone.

You could try Matalan aswell if you have one near you? They had lots of workwear in when I was there yesterday.

Peacocks generally have plain black trousers in, fairly polyester-heavy to avoid ironing (guess where I get my work trousers from?!).

Warehouse are good for black trousers, and they cut for a slightly curvier figure; if she’s got a smaller waist & bigger bum, then they should be a good option.

TokyoSushi · 04/09/2019 14:12

M&S she probably just needs the same sort of thing that I would call 'work trousers' and that's where I always get them!

www.marksandspencer.com/ponte-straight-leg-trousers/p/p22469526?color=BLACK ? They are pull on too so will work with changing body shapes etc. I've worn these since sixth form up to now at work

Would she be willing have a try on of the boys school trousers from Asda? My niece aged 17 wears the black slim leg adjustable waist ones for her college course. She’s curvy and they still work.
