Hairstyle help for fine hair

Could I have your ideas for hairstyles? (Length and styles)

My hair is incredibly fine and I can't do anything with it. At the moment it is long (just below my armpits) and I have thin, oval face. I'm fed up with no knowing what to do with it and think I need a change. All I do is tie it in a ponytail and ignore it. I have to wash it every other day as I get greasy roots.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

This was me 10 years ago. I took the plunge and I went for the complete chop. From your length I went to short/short. Not the dreaded "mum bob" but more of a pixie/bob, which is a bit more modern. I have never looked back. Everyone loves it except my DM, who thinks it is "manly". As time has gone on I have tried even shorter, which my DH loved, but DM was really mean about. Both my DD's think I look better and younger with short hair. Now 50 something, my hair is even thinner and finer, so I will be keeping it short and telling DM to mind her own business Grin.

Go for something radical - if you don't like it, it will grow Grin.

Sympathy OP mine is exactly the same and I'm losing it as well at the moment. Mine is a similar length to the photo below (mine isn't this thick) and I find it the best length. Also I find layers are not a good idea whatever everyone says. One length is best.

I'm afraid I'm jumping on to sympathise not to help, sorry! I'm exactly the same I'm afraid, total baby fine hair. Unfortunately I also have a round face. Years ago I had a very short cut but even cropped it lay flat to my head if I didn't spend ages styling it. I usually have a chin length one length Bob with highlights. It's ok. But in summer I like to be able to put it up. I'd live to keep mine a bit longer I'm soooo bored of the Bob. Hopefully someone comes up with great advice for you (that I can steal!)

Same. like floppy baby hair, but with just enough wave that it won't even lay flat properly either. I have a chubby round face.

Mine spends its life in a ponytail too.

I recently chopped it chin length (not a bob, a blunt chop) and like it like this - the wave isn't so bad, almost looks intentional, and it still goes in a pony.

I'm considering going a bit shorter at the back.. not too extreme, but a bit more high at the back and still chin length at the front just to make it look more like a 'hair-style'
