Any apples want to share their recent purchases?

I carry all my weight around my tummy and look like I’m about 6 months pregnant so always struggle with clothes which are flattering for me.

I’m currently on the hunt for some new clothes so I was wondering if anyone with similar shape wants to share their recent purchases?

Just marking my place as a fellow apple. I live the white stuff top with the knot at the waist. Sadly they're out of stock for my size but I'll keep an eye.

elasti · 03/09/2019 08:34

The last thing I'd want to do as an apple is draw attention to my tummy area with a big knot! I like slightly longer (but not toooooo long) line tops so they don't finish at / highlight my widest part.

@GreyHare I love that checked shirt but find anything oversized like that makes me look bigger, as I need a 14 to get round the boobs and belly but it then drowns my skinny arms

Patterns not great this season but I like next’s Wrap shirt.

MeggyMeg · 03/09/2019 11:18

Weirdly , it the knot thing definitely works for me I think it's the fact the material ,drapes towards the point of the know. I find anything baggy and tunic like just makes me look pregnant. Blush

BubblesBuddy · 03/09/2019 12:46

Also look at Saltwater. They do lots of tunics. I think a eell cut tunic sims over the offending bits! No knots here and no waisted dresses.

Racheyg · 03/09/2019 17:05

I'm an apple but not sure I dress for my shape?? I just get what I like (which results in me probably looking bigger than I am. I got this dress from never fully dressed
www.neverfullydressed.co.uk/collections/sale/products/pink-mini-wrap-dress

And I also got a black dress from Zara for work. Can't find image on the website

GreyHare · 03/09/2019 20:09

@BubbleBuddy I think we might have the same opinion on dressing for our shape, I avoid anything drawing attention to the belly, skim and hide is the look I'm after.

Skyejuly · 04/09/2019 12:30

I am so stuck. I look pregnant!

@EvilPostbox I love that dress. A bit pricey for me but definitely given me inspiration for looking.

I always see high waisted jeans are recommended for apple shapes but I find they just accentuate the belly. Do you not have that problem or are these magic jeans that don’t do that?

BubblesBuddy · 05/09/2019 18:21

Low cut jeans allow your tum to hang over them! Higher cut with give in the fabric avoids this. Then choose a tunic to go over them. I like fairly roomy jumpers too. Jazz up with jewellery.

I have lost a couple of stone and have gone from looking pregnant to having a very thickset middle. I do now find things like paperbag waist and knots it tops can hide that my waist isn’t slim but agree that they were a complete no go when I was larger.

@StCharlotte that top is lovely!

I have a top that shape in black with gold buttons on the shoulders and actually get loads of compliments too. Just a shame, somethings happened to my iron and it pretty much melted the top this morning!
