I need an overhaul. I am 48 and my usual products no longer seem to be working.

I double cleanse with cleanse and polish - Liz Earle.

I use Liz Earle toner - I think this needs changed.

Then either a clarins or decleor facial oil - now starting to make my skin oily.

Moisturiser which at the moment is superskin by Liz Earle.

I’m getting blemishes and my skin just looks a bit dull, grey and flat. Make up isn’t looking good and pores and lines seem like pot holes and train tracks.

Anyone good with this and can give me any tips. Reasonably good budget. Thanks.

Do you use any acids? If add those in and see if you get any difference. I wouldn’t change the entire routine at once as you won’t know what’s working or not. A good AHA at night and a BHA in the morning might help with the blemishes and dullness. My preferred acids are from Paula’s Choice as I feel like they do more than things like Pixie Glow toners with acids.

I’d add a good face mask into the mix too, and use it every three days or so.

To add, I really rate face oils. So I wouldn’t drop those entirely, but maybe after adding acids to the mix swap out the oils for a different brand. The Ordinary’s rosehip oil is a good all-rounder but my favourite is Nuxe.

Thank you. I’m looking at the ordinary online now but will look at nuxe too.

If your skin is on the oilier side and you like facial oils, I would recommend Dr Hauschka Clarifying Day Oil. It somehow manages to make my skin less oily, while also moisturising. For blemishes I don't think you can beat the Paula's choice BHA. I use the resist one, but they are all pretty good.

Maybe a vit c serum and a retinol would be good for you.

BelindasGleeTeam · 01/09/2019 11:14

Facetheory regenacalm serum. 40% off with FB40 code. I use it and their porebright one.

Has transformed my skin. I rarely rave about facecare but this stuff is far better then the ordinary ones I tried.

BelindasGleeTeam · 01/09/2019 11:15

Regenacalm is retinol and vitamin C plus other things like hyaluronic acid.

Soola · 01/09/2019 14:31

Regenacalm Pro with 3% Encapsulated Retinoid, Dill, Liquorice and Vitamin C.

Regenerating Moisturiser M4 Pro with 3% Retinol Liposomes, Hyaluronic Acid and stabilised Vitamin C

Porebright N10 Serum with 10% Niacinamide and Azelaic Acid.

Thank you for that info and discount code. I love trialling new products and have ordered two of each of the above using that code. Bargain if they are as good as the reviews and your personal recommendation suggest.
