Best orthotic shoes that don't cost a fortune?

Hi, I've got foot and ankle problems and need to buy myself some more supportive shoes, however all the orthotic ones (which mostly look awful as well) seem to cost an absolute bomb. Any suggestions which brands offer the nicest styles as well as being comfy? Thanks.

Not sure if they'll meet your needs, I discovered fitflops last year. I have flat feet. They are by far the comfiest shoes i have ever owned

FITFLOPs and Vionics are the comfiest but neither particularly attractive looking. Both have sales on at the minute. Fit flops online sale and if you sign up you get an additional 20% off first order.
How about splashing out on some supportive insoles to go in your existing shoes?
Don’t go for anything too flat look for shoes with build in arch support.

Do you have a shuropody shop near you?

There are usually some ok styles in there and they are so so comfortable- I have plantar fasciitis and arthritis in my feet and the shoes have had such a difference!

Vionic shoes have arch support and are better for flat feet. I had issues after wearing Fitflops for years. I totally disagree about them not looking nice. Many of the ankle boots are really lovely and i have several pairs of loafers, flip flops and high heeled cloggs that are pretty on trend. The Vionic sale is over it seems and the shoes never seem to be reduced that much on the website. So I mainly buy from eBay, Amazon, legend shoes or simply shoes.

Doc martens. The majority have removable soles so you can put your own orthotics in. I'm hypermobile and find them really supportive.

Hi thanks I ordered some vionics but don't find them that comfortable, but I think I accidentally ordered wide fit. I wear fitflops as slippers or did until my puppy ate them! I'll have a look at shuropody. Thanks, looks like I'm going to need to pay at least £60-70 to get anything decent which is way more than I normally pay (but that's probably why I've got bad feet!)

@teta where did you get your comfy high heeled clogs from please and are they supportive?
I could really do with some clogs/covered in mules for autumn/winter as I can’t wear shoes with backs due to a foot problem?

I wanted navy or tan colour for work as I don’t have to be smart although i’m unsure how suede would stand up to all the cold and rain we have up north and no reviews on the site for these?

have you looked at ecco or gabor or birkenstock?

Not looked at Ecco or Gabor recently but Birkenstock aren’t supportive enough for me also the cork insides get wet and crack in winter x
