I was in London this weekend and went to see the Mary Quant exhibition and absolutely loved it! I particularly liked the stories of ‘normal’ women who donated their clothes and their stories of wearing them.

Highly recommended!

Agree, saw it a few months ago and loved it!

Never wore the clothes but I loved her make up! Used to save up for months. Loved her blushers and lipsticks. About a decade ago I went to her shop - the make up was crap. Gone all 'fairyfied'. I used to love the plums , deep pinks and reds. Anyone remember Chic cherry - the black cherry look for lips and nails? Funnily enough - my aunt copied me and got a black cherry lipstick which surprised me as she is so old fashioned now!

I went with my mum who spent the whole time reminiscing!

She couldn't afford a Quant dress but was very handy with a sewing machine so used to buy the patterns and make her own versions. She was telling me this when another lady joined in and they ended up having a lovely chat about being fashionable students in the 60s. Social history right in front of me!
