Black (white?) heads on nose

Went to scratch my nose thinking it was sunburned. Moved it to the side to clean around my nose stud and to my horror (fascination) lots of white stuff popped out the pores. I could sort of scratch it out but it's gross. Are these blackheads? How can I prevent them or get rid of the rest other than digging my nails in?!

Sebaceous filaments.

Sounds like sebaceous filaments. You need to invest in some skin care with salicylic acid in - have a look at the Ordinary or some of the anti aging stuff has it in too.

They came out very easily. Disgustingly so. Urgh. Any specific recommendations for this saliciwhatsit acid?!
