Where do you buy high quality t-shirts?

I'm sick of t-shirts that look rubbish after a few washes, even from pricey brands (looking at you Hush!) If you have t-shirts that look good, fit well and last beyond a few months where did you buy them?
I'm looking for short sleeve, either scoop/boat/v-neck. Plain or with patterns, I don't mind!

I'm a size 18 - the XL in Hush, Mint Velvet and Jaegar fit me well but am aware this might restrict my choice with other brands.

Arket do really good quality T-shirt’s

Oly4 · 29/08/2019 11:29

I find they last longer if they have a bit of elastane. My. Down ones with elastase have lasted much longer than 100% cotton

French Connection and Uniqlo.

Hush t-shirts always shrink for me.

I have a lovely Autograph black t shirt, but somewhere in the shoulder seam is a piece of what I can only think is nylon thread. It’s so aggravating I can wear the t-shirt.

Petit Bateau. I have some that are 15 years old!

I got some amazing ones from Gap the year before last, such good quality. I was so impressed I ordered all of the colours. The white one is thick enough not to reveal your bra, no little holes in the front and the dark ones haven't faded. I've worn and worn them and they still look new. I think it's this one- can't attest to this year's quality though!

Uniqlo, especially the supima cotton ones. Lovely thick cotton, wash well, last ages.

YorkshireGoldFanClub · 29/08/2019 11:49

Agree with PP, got a couple of supima cotton t shirts from Uniqlo, fit lovely, very thick and lovely and soft, no issues with losing shape after wearing for a few days in a row either. I've basically lived in the two I got for the last week or so.

Also only about a tenner each!

Uniqlo

Another vote for Arket, I have a linen scoop neck t-shirt from there and it's lovely and drapey but is retaining its shape. Also, DH's Uniqlo t-shirts are fab, soft and thick.

Hush t-shirt are famously shortlived, I have one from last summer that already has holes, although the one I bought in the spring this year seems a bit thicker so fingers crossed. They do such a flattering neckline, that's the problem, I love the deep V and that's hard to find.

I have t-shirts from redbubble that have been worn masses, have retained their shape and haven't faded (I have a purple one that is 3 years old and still looks good but wasn't too 'stiff' to begin with). So if you want a slogan tee or one with a picture that's a good option.

I do think part of the problem is what we want from a tshirt. A thicker tshirt like a man's tshirt from Uniqlo will last for ages but I think on a female bodyshape it can look boxy and unattractive. Thinner tshirts will drape better (see Hush) but will wear out sooner. I am experimenting with more linen tshirts, better for the environment, drapey and harder wearing than cotton.

The M&S range at £6 (I bought the 'relaxed' I think) actually have some shape and a nice drape to them, and wash well.

What is the sizing like in Arket? I’m a large 16 Blush

I love the shop, and have been into Bluewater’s several times, but it’s a bit like Benetton in the 90’s when I never liked to untidy anything.

MoreThanImFeeling · 29/08/2019 13:23

Uniqlo - very thick - brilliant quality

SequinnedSlippers · 29/08/2019 15:38

Ninety Percent

CountFosco · 31/08/2019 11:27

What is the sizing like in Arket?

Generally true to size to small I'd say. Although my linen t-shirt was bigger than I expected but that's probably just the style.
