What winter boots with paperbag pants?

I discovered paperbag trousers this summer, they really suit my figure and I want to continue wearing them during winter months but I'm absolutely flummoxed as what boot would work. I have isabel marant style ankle boots but the silhouette looks so very wrong. I've no idea what footwear would work in the colder months. Can anyone suggest what boots would work? I've also developed a penchant for those ankle grazer high waisted flares type pants, again looking for footwear wear inspiration and solutions? A small to mid heel is required as I work in cold office and stomp around all day so no sky scrapers please.

As you can probably tell I find this dressing for winter lark rather troublesome and I hope you can help me. Thanks!

No idea about boots but last year I wore paper bag trousers with chunky block heel shoes and a roll neck to work a lot and it looked quite nice I think. This kind of thing but not this colour. Would also look good with similar style but a low block heel. I would love to know what boots go though as I haven't found any!

Not sure there’s a satisfactory answer. I’m thinking of packing mine away for the winter as I just can’t get boots to work with them

I remember owning a few pairs of wide leg 3/4 trousers in their last iteration around 15 years ago but I could not get them to work in the winter as they did not work with any winter shoes, especially boots.

Tapered leg paper bag trousers are probably easier to wear with brogues, slim loafers, many types of heels or ankle boots, though.

I wore a dull silver trainer with mine and I think I looked OK, v comfy too!

Shoe boots as I think winter trousers should be below the ankle.

I’d probably go for brogues, with argyle socks.

Brogues and socks, as above, and flat chelsea boots in black or mahogany.

If you are talking about those wide leg cropped flares though I have no idea. A few years ago people seemed to wear them with tight fit ankle boots, sock boots, as the more loose styles looked clownish beneath the pants/jeans.

Or go 70’s style and wear long fitted boots beneath as you would with a midi skirt.

A pair of 8 hole docs would also look cute to the paper bag trousers.
