OK for a wedding?

Is this dress OK for a wedding? It's in a lovely venue, should be a nice day I just don't know if it's a bit too bling?

looks perfect for a wedding to me.

lawnmowingsucks · 28/08/2019 21:32

I don't like it. Sorry

Tiggytico · 28/08/2019 21:34

I love it!

Brassicbumblebee · 28/08/2019 21:35

Thank you.

Its good for my shape. I've not long had a baby and am overweight as it is so this kind of skims my problem areas and shows off the nice parts.

Would silver sandals be the go to do you think?

Suppose that's down to personal taste.

Oooh, I like that. I've just been thinking I'd like more sequined things and I'm also curvy. Go for it, OP. Bright red shoes? 👠

Brassicbumblebee · 28/08/2019 21:41

Oh gosh I'm not brave when it comes to colours and do quite like matchy matchy so it will either be silver or the pinky colour for me but I do think red would look fab with that. They have it in grey too and uove grey and red together.

Fwiw I don't think the photo does the bling justice. It's a lot nicer irl.

I think it's lovely but I ordered something very similar for a wedding recently and it looked like shit on me because of the fabric. Another girl wore it on the day, she was very skinny, looked good on her. Might just be my shape though, but it made me look mu h bigger than I am.

Drogosnextwife · 28/08/2019 21:43

Ah sorry I didn't realise you had tried it on. In that case it's lovely for a wedding.

Brassicbumblebee · 28/08/2019 21:43

I do worry about that but have tried more fitted styles and just shows off my saggy oversized csection belly. This is good as the sequins kind of end at my smallest part. But, I might be looking in a 'good' mirror lol.

Just as an FYI maya dresses are bridesmaids dresses. My bridesmaids had these but in a different style, so I wouldn't personally wear it to someones wedding sorry!

WinterRose92 · 28/08/2019 21:45

I think that’s a gorgeous dress, I really like it!

KronksSpinachPuffs · 28/08/2019 21:46

(I got them from asos though where they are listed as bridesmaids dresses)

Brassicbumblebee · 28/08/2019 21:49

I have seen them listed as bridesmaid dresses on asos which is maybe what is scaring me a bit. I think they are gorgeous, all the styles, but thought with this one being midi and with sleeves as opposed to maxi it might not be too bridesmaid.

Got what a twat I would feel if I turned up and it's was the bridesmaid dress lol!

I have this dress! Well the maternity version anyway. It’s gorgeous and would definitely wear it to a wedding in the winter but I personally choose brighter more flowery things this time of year. That’s just me though and if you like you should definitely go for it. X

Ivysaurus · 28/08/2019 21:58

@KronksSpinachPuffs LOVE your username

Brassicbumblebee · 28/08/2019 21:58

I have got a brighter flowery print lipsy one in the same order but just feel its a bit too clingy on my stomach. I'm a size 18 and I'm not sure bodycon is the way to go although it is very weddingy.

It's lovely and very suited to a wedding Smile have a lovely time

KronksSpinachPuffs · 28/08/2019 22:06

@Ivysaurus thanks hahaha what a film!

Muddytoes1 · 28/08/2019 22:06

Wow the lipsy one is gorgeous and more what I’d go for this time of year but you should go with whichever makes you feel more confident, both are lovely dresses. Xx

Brassicbumblebee · 28/08/2019 22:09

Thank you very much. The lipsy dress would be better on the pocket as I already have shoes and bag to match so would like to get away with that one. I'll have to try them again.

I do sometimes think there's no getting passed my size and if there is a bit of belly so bloody what.

Heratnumber7 · 28/08/2019 22:44

I'd say it's a bit glitzy for a wedding. More a dress for a nighttime do.

Brassicbumblebee · 29/08/2019 06:58

Thank you it's good to have different opinions. Will keep them all in mind.
