Help me find a new wardrobe!

I need help and feel very much like Julia Roberts (minus the gorgeousness) in Pretty Woman when she goes shopping with her crumpled cash asking for help. I’ve been to all my usual shops (H&M, Dorothy Perkins, Debenhams) and haven’t liked anything so I’m willing to branch out.

I need a new wardrobe after having a baby. I’m still the same clothes size (8) but my shape has changed in that my boobs and hips are bigger. So things I loved before don’t suit me as well now. Clingy dresses look skin tight on my hips/bum and high neck tops and ruffled necklines I used to compliment small chest now make me look out of proportion.

I tend to wear knee length dresses or slightly shorter skirts and skinny jeans with a formal top to work. I like floral dresses with ankle boots and items with interesting details e.g. tops with tiny buttons on the sleeves, boat necks. I like simple but elegant styles, Audrey Hepburn and Taylor Swift on their relaxed look days.

I’ve liked some stuff on Boden’s site but £55 a top would eat into my budget too fast. Also heard that their clothes are prone to shrinking in the wash...

Any ideas of where to shop or has anyone spotted any great pieces around? I’m feeling dissapointed as I’ve saved some money to go clothes shopping and haven’t found one thing!

Hi OP

Have you tried places like Outfit? I know you've been to DP but along side DP there's usually a topshop, oasis & Selfridges. I was in there the other day and there were definitely a lot of nice floral dresses in. Topshop usually has nice detailed tops in too.

I also vouch for new look and weirdly enough TK Max. Although the shop near me is organised, I know it can be abit of a jumble sale. Other than that I too am a massive H&M fan but atm everything in there is pretty much in the sale! So annoying.

River island perhaps could be another option too?

Good luck anyway!

I never think to go in Topshop, it always felt a bit fashionable for me when I was a teen but I will definitely give it a try.

I do like New Look but their website frustrates the hell out of me (why does it empty my basket while I’m still looking?!). I might have to brave it. Grin

Yes that’s exactly what I saw in H&M just rails of unorganised sales stuff.

Thanks for the suggestions Flowers
