Can anyone recommend one? My mum has stage 4 cancer. She’s well enough to go to a couple of shops, but not to do lots of trailing around looking for clothes.

We’re going to my brother’s wedding in the new year. She’s looking for the main wedding day outfit as well as nice clothes for various events related to the wedding (dinner the night before and so on).

She’s stylish and has strong opinions. If she was well enough, she’d probably do it on her own. But she agrees that getting some help would be a good idea.

(My dad died last year, also of cancer (we’re really lucky that way Hmm, so I think she might be feeling under a bit of pressure as the ‘main’ parent on the day.)

So I’d love your recommendations please! JL is the obvious one but wondered if there was anything else. Thanks so much.

I use JL regularly. I would highly recommend them.

I think John Lewis would be the best for your Mums needs.

Yes John Lewis. You can book online and choose a stylist but it’s often booked up. You could maybe ring direct if no quickly available spaces and explain.

There’s also this place which is a good place for mother-of-the outfits if they are her sort of thing:

I use topshop oxford st. It's excellent. Not just "young" clothes either. Great range.
