Updos for fine hair

I have fine hair cut in a long bob, I used to have quite a lot but lost loads over the last year due to an under active thyroid. I’m going to a wedding next month and have no clue what to do with it, down it just looks really scraggy but I am completely useless at styling hair/updos, I’ve looked at hundreds of tutorials online and just can’t do them or I don’t seem to have enough hair. I’ve tried using volumising powder to help and it makes my hair completely vile, a spray of dry shampoo does help it become a bit more grippy but it still looks crap whatever I try. Help! Or pointers! Anything!

I also have pretty fine hair and either backcomb the front and top a bit, then pin each side back with a Kirby grip which gives a nice bit of lift, then put all the hair in a ponytail and curl the tail with a curling tong.
Or do a side parting, pull my hair into a side ponytail then add a donut, backcomb all the hair that's sticking out through the donut then wrap it around and pin it down. I will see if I can find some pics to show you what I mean!
