Eyebrow Tinting at Home

Is this possible? A good idea? A total PITA and recipe for disaster?

If you do do it anything I should be aware of (it is for DD who is 13 with v blond eyebrows) or make sure I do so I do not fuck it up?

Any suggestions for kits/brands.

Thank you!

I buy dyebrow in brown. Don't get black unless you want slug brows. Put Vaseline on your skin around your brows so you don't accidentally dye your face. I leave it on for about 6 minutes and then thoroughly wash off.

Aderyn19 · 26/08/2019 11:29

If your DD is very blond then leave it on for minimum time until you know for sure how it will turn out. You can always repeat it if it's not dark enough. Also maybe do a skin test if it is for your DD.

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 26/08/2019 11:31

I use the eyelure dybrow too. You can wipe off and reapply if it's not dark enough rather than risk Sharpie brows.

SpeckledyHen · 26/08/2019 12:17

eyelure dyebrow. Quick cheap and easy to apply .

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 26/08/2019 13:23

You could try the Revolution 3 Day dye as a starter (£5) and it's useful as a top up. (from Superdrugs)

I have the Medium Brown and the Taupe , I have really sparse brows so I do apply onto my skin as well. It peels off and leaves a muted colour (though some reviews said the Taupe was a bit gingery )

I leave mine on for a good 3-4 hours , only when I am at home and don't have to go to the door , it's a bit Robbie Rotten vinyl brow while its drying (which remonds me of another one star review where they said It's too thick and shiney looking , very un-natural ..... Erm Duh you peel it off Grin )

If she likes the extra colour go for the proper dye , if not , the Revoloution fades in 3 days

Eye lure dyebrow is amazing!

Hoodiesallsummer · 26/08/2019 13:53

I’ve found it rubbish. Barely any difference at all (eyelure one.)

NisekoWhistler · 26/08/2019 13:57

So easy I'd never bother paying for a salon to do this anymore. It's impossible to mess up

soapona · 26/08/2019 13:58

Just take her to a salon. Once the shape is sorted it's easy to maintain. You can buy tint from amazon. You need a brown and a grey 1cm each then 3% oxidant. You need it ashy otherwise it won't look good. I've done numerous brow courses and to get brows right you really need someone good it's worth the money.

IloveJudgeJudy · 26/08/2019 16:15

DD uses just for men. Leaves it on for 5 minutes, no longer. Her brows always look on point. Use a lighter rather than darker dye. You can always add but you can't take off!

AwdBovril · 26/08/2019 16:23

I use Just For Men, too. Easy cheaper than proper brow stuff. I buy packs of 50 mascara wands online for about £1, use them instead of the JFM brush, & clean them after use, get a few uses from each one. I dye my own lashes, too, & use the mascara wands for that, too. Much better than using the stupid paintbrush they supply.

ChoporNot · 26/08/2019 21:15

Thank you everyone - we will give it a go. @soapona I did take her to a salon at the beginning of the holidays and she loved not having to do her brows over the summer. It has now faded

I'm ginger, with blonde facial hair.

I use Eyelure Brown. Just don't leave it on for too long and remember to wash the stuff off thoroughly.

It's easier to repeat the process if it comes out a bit too light than wandering about with Groucho Marx eyebrows.
