What is this style and where can I buy it?!

Went on holiday to France. I absolutely was blown away by how lovely the vast majority of the women looked. Lots of linen fabrics/cream/white/blush. Crochet tops/chinos.

I've attached some pictures that semi capture the look. Is it called something specific? Any idea what shops stock this kind of thing as their style? I think Zara is the only one I can think of and that's because in the city, there was a huge, beautiful Zara! Any others?

It is a great thread and it has morphed into a really interesting fashion thread with a focus on loving yourself, making the absolute best of yourself and adding a little of that French X factor into one’s daily life, with an affirming philosophy rather than an oppressive, must-be-thin bent. Wear the red lipstick, the brogues and whatever else you love!

The dress is a shirt waister, but is also called a shirt dress,. I remember them from the 80s.

I’d love to see how any of those photos would translate well to a dark, wet, uk winter.
Sadly.

But Paris is also dark and wet in the winter.

DSis has lived in the South if France for25 years. Even though she bears more than a passing resemblance to Phoebe Waller-Bridge in both style and figure (and certainly doesn’t look 45), she still says she feels very “English lumpy” next to her Mediterranean colleagues. I think the difference might be pattern. French chic doesn’t seem to have much tartan or ditzy flowers or anything really more than simple pinstripe or Breton stripes, where one colour is always white. Possibly a gamin flash of an argyle sock in winter. Coco Channel rather than Vivienne Westwood.
