How much swimwear for a beach holiday?

I'm having a pre-holiday panic. First beach holiday in 7+ years and I have 1 swimsuit and 1 bikini that fit. Do I order more before we go? I'm v fussy with fit since I gained weight so I'd have to order a few to try on, I couldn't panic buy at the airport but I leave in two days!

Why would you need more than two? One to get wet then the other when that’s drying.

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 21/08/2019 20:41

Two is fine. I took four for two weeks but only wore two. The two I felt most confident in and out of those two I wore one for probably ten days out of 14. Just rinsed it with shower gel in the sink and dried on the balcony.

As CherryPavlova said, you don't NEED more than two. Some people like to take lots - but you will be fine with two. And if you really feel the need for more once you're there, ins sure there'll be swimwear shops by the beaches

I'd say you need one for each day.

Some people just rinse and re-use but it feels a bit icky to me as it's kind of the same as knickers and you'd not wear those two days running.

Do you have a nearby Next? They do free delivery to store by noon tomorrow if you order in the next few hours. They have some in their Clearance section - I bought some last minute myself recently.

I took 2 bikinis and 1 swimsuit on a 10 day holiday with me recently and never wore the swimsuit so I think 2 is ok. You can easily handwash them in the sink, so be more thorough than just a rinse.

Wallabyone · 21/08/2019 20:58

I really don't think you need one per day, that's 14 items if swimwear for a fortnight Hmm I took ages about five and ended up wearing two the most, because they were the most flattering and therefore I felt most comfortable in them x

It might also depend on what you are actually going to be doing on the beach. I'm quite active so tend to get marks on and sand embedded in the fabric. Because of that I have beach bikinis and newer pool/walking about bikinis.

I'm packing to go away now and have only put in five or six complete bikinis and a couple of extra bottoms. They will all get machine washed several times during the stay.

My limit is snorkeling and lots of dips to cool off. I'm sure I've done it before with 2 bikinis and a tankini top for 10 days but for some reason I'm panicking. Possibly because I'm not as body confident at the moment!

Swimwear is easily washed through and dries quickly. I usually just take 2 bikini bottoms and 1 bikini top (only take 1 top because l rarely wear it, l take it to the beach more as a security blanket!) that will go with either pair of bottoms.

I took 4 for 14 nights. One didn't get worn at all, one I only worn once so two will be fine. I just took a tube of travel wash and hand washed each evening which takes seconds.
