To help cover grey (just a smattering) and give a nice colour?

Semi or permanent?
I find Castings good for a semi.
There are a couple of brands now with olaplex in them which might be worth a go.

I have been using Clairol Nice n easy - No Ammonia Non Permanent Hair Dye for a few years since I started to notice a bit of grey hair.
I apply with a dye brush like they use in a hair salon. It comes with a nice conditioner to use after you dye your hair. It lasts up to 24 shampoos and does not leave a visible root line as it just fades out of your hair.
I would not use a permanent colour until you have a lot of grey. I used a permanent colour one time before I had any grey hair and it took ages to grow of of my hair.
I often get this on offer in boots. Look for the box that says demi or semi permanent on the box as they do a permanent one as well.

Have used Casting for years but found lately it doesn't cover my greys any more. Just switched to Josh Wood and like the results, though advise going a shade or two lighter than with Casting - I was Medium Brown/Chocolate Brown (500/535) and am Palest Brown/Dark Blonde (6.0/6.5) in Josh Wood. Agree with PP on applying with a hairdresser-style brush, cheap as chips from Boots and totally worth it.
