Newchic - anyone ordered from them?

Ads for Newchic keep popping up on my MN, and their clothes look exactly my sort of thing. Has anyone used them, and if so are the clothes good quality? How are they at returns, if you've ever needed to send something back?

I'm sceptical about the supposed massive discounts, but I'm OK with the price that's quoted.

Hi Wonky. Are they the linen tops, dresses and trousers with cat logos etc?

Wonkybanana · 20/08/2019 12:29

They do have a lot like that. This is something that's caught my eye.

It's lovely. I've got my linen on as we type!

The reason I asked is that there is a UK online shop selling the same clothes in £'s not $.

You might be in USA though for all I know! Just looked and it's £'s now! I'll try and find the UK website and get back if it's any help?

Just looked at the dresses and recognised some of them. Whoever this company are they operate under many names. The merchandise actually comes from China, no idea where the website makes it look like they’re based, but I’ve dealt with them before. I ordered what looked like some lovely maxi dresses, two months later they still hadn’t arrived and although they did answer communications they kept saying, just a few more weeks etc. Eventually got my money back from PayPal.

Btw that is not meant to imply they’re dodgy, I just didn’t have a good experience with them,

They are in China, it seems to be a little like Wish, I'm not sure it is one company or a storefront. Lots of complaints on FB about them but they do have a huge following. There is actually a FB group about scams under their name but that might be affiliates if it is just a store front (like Amazon or Wish)

The MN link takes me to the UK store (which is where I am). I've never heard of them before, that's why I was asking. I sort of felt that if they were completely legit they might be better known, I know I've never seen them linked in an MN post asking for recommendations.

Do I risk it? Hmmm.... I'm still tempted.

Yes but they’re not based in the UK, they are in China. Terrible trust pilot reviews too. As I said they seem to be a storefront for many companies (a bit like Wayfair)

I like their ads but I'm wary, too.

Have you seen Holy Clothing? I've bought from them. Five days for delivery, from India. Fabulous.

HalfManHalfLabrador · 20/08/2019 18:05

Just looked at Holy Clothing. Aren’t they a bit... costumey?

I ordered a pair of shoes from newchic after seeing a friend with them. She's ordered twice and I ordered once, all arrived ok but did take several weeks. My shoes were too small despite ordering a size bigger after being warned by my friend. They only cost about £8 so not worth trying to return all the way to China. The quality was fairly good, definitely worth the £8.
