Hair and skin supplements

Hi. I'm trying to find something to improve my thinning hair. Blood tests etc all fine - I think it's just the way I am! My skin's fine, but I was wondering if any of those Perfectil type skin, hair and nail supplements have been effective for anyone.
Thanks,
Ags.

Biotin is meant to help.

Yeah, I've heard that. I'm a bit nervous of it though as I've heard it can cause nasty breakouts. Bit worried about exchanging one issue for another.

I didn't notice a huge improvement with Biotin but the Skin, Hair & Nails with the extra nails booster works amazingly for me. Difference in my nails was unbelievable but it does take a few weeks. I haven't taken it all summer & I definitely need to start again. I buy it when Boots have the 3for2 promotion on but if I could just find a cheaper alternative I'd be thrilled 😊

Just be aware that hair growth phases take a good 3-6 months to start to show. You probably won’t see massive results for a long time. You’d have to stick with something for at least that long before you know if it works - or not. I have FINALLY gone down the medication path for mine and it’s going to be a very slow process. I wish doctors were more supportive about this because it is so hard to find anyone who a) takes it seriously and b) knows how to treat it!

Thanks, everyone.
@Onynx did you find it helped your hair as well as nails?

I use GNC Women's Hair Skin and Nails supplements.

@agapanthus1979 I have very thick hair so from that point of view I didn't notice a huge difference but it definitely grew faster. Just be aware though that hair means all hair! It took me a while to twig why the hair on my legs was growing so quickly 😂

@Onynx aarrgghh!!! Good tip there! I'm at an age when the ol' facial hair seems to be spouting more readily, so I might need a strategy for that Grin
I really wish I didn't care, but thinning hair is quite demoralising.
Thanks for all the tips.
