Jo Malone Floral Masterclass invite

Has anyone else had one of these? I realise these are marketing events but I thought it’s was a bit much. The usual posh looking invite, this time to bring a friend to a floral arrangement master class.Pink fizz and delectable treats whilst you learn. But in the small print it says a booking fee of £25 is necessary and is fully redeemable against Jo Malone products. So not quite the freebie it initially looks. Bit cheeky I thought.

I simply refuse to give the Jo Malone company a penny more of my hard earned cash due to the obscene amount of freebies handed out to 'influencers'. I have spent hundreds in there over the years. They never offer discounts to the paying customer, even the grab games they have had are to me a feeble attempt at clearing old stock.

I have recently converted to the Aldi dupes (Velvet Rose, Peony and Pomegranate are spot on) which are fantastic, I would never go back to paying those sort of prices now.

You would also be hard pressed to find anything for less than £40 in store so yes, cheeky AF.

It certainly made my Monday morning! I don't even spend that much there Grinfirst for everything!

Well I feel even worse now! I got one of those last year completely out of the blue which is great. I don’t understand the randomness of their “ gifts” though. I buy a perfume every 6- 8 weeks!

@MrsGrindah yep, I've hardly bought anything this year so no idea why I've been chosen!

We need a “ sulking” emoji!

I’ve spent a fortune there over the past year. I got the entire wildflower and weeds collection, the frangipani fragrance and spent £100 on the grabber game. I just got an invite to book a time for a select your scent event at my local boutique

Yolanda I was just thinking the same thing. Two people on my stories have been #gifted one of those sets yesterday. (Along with their sofas, flooring, haircuts etc etc) It really puts me off a company.

Am I envious? Yes a bit. Would I say no if they sent me free stuff? Hell no.

But it's still a bit galling when you see the same company over and over giving stuff away. Bloom & Wild have been like that lately too. Nothing against those who get the freebies, I'd be first in the queue. It's just an irritating way of doing things.
