I just came on here to say that I got the new Next harem pants and they are really lovely! Loads of people have recommended them in past but I never liked the fabric. These are a £22 bargain Hush rip off!

Thank you!

Lumene · 18/08/2019 20:38

I got some from ASOS but wouldn’t recommend them really. They weren’t awful but they stretched too much and now threaten to fall down Blush

QuickThinkOfAName · 18/08/2019 20:43

Thanks for this!

I bought the hush ones years ago and was very disappointed. The fabric was shit and bobbled immediately.

I wouldn't have minded if it was 20 odd quid or so but it's hush so it was at least double that.

Got to be honest I've stopped buying hush as I've never bought anything worth the money. And one £80 dress I got is actually lopsided...

Off to next for me...

Thisismynewname123 · 18/08/2019 20:45

@Lumene I haven't washed them. Only bought them today and I was impressed with the fit and fabric

@QuickThinkOfAName I like the Hush ones but agree they lose shape quickly and the quality doesn't justify the price

I love my Hush harems but they aren’t long enough in the leg for me. I’m going to see if Next have a tall option.

MerryDeath · 18/08/2019 22:00

hush use such crap material their stuff never lasts, which it should for that price 😠

sunglasses123 · 18/08/2019 22:04

Agree re Hush. The zips broke off in washing machine and the crease really badly

MamehaSan · 18/08/2019 22:11

@NC4Now I got the Next ones last week - I've been looking for some for ages but they're always too short for me. Some of the Next patterns come in long and (get this!!!) extra long and extra EXTRA long. I did a little happy dance when I found this out. They're lovely.

yellowsun · 19/08/2019 07:36

There are the ones they call joggers and the new ones they actually call harems that just come in navy. I’m a 33 inch leg and got the new ones in long and they fit! Very comfy.

ginyogarepeat · 19/08/2019 07:40

I have two pairs of Next harem trousers, slightly patterned ones. This is the FOURTH summer of me wearing them to death! They're only now starting to slightly bobble, have been fantastic value!

ouchmyfanjo · 19/08/2019 07:53

Thanks for this, I've just ordered a pair! I've not been impressed with fabric or quality from Hush either.

nitgel · 19/08/2019 08:02

aer you sure you're washing them correctly? my hush ones have lasted about 5 years so far, also they are sometimes in the sale

Thisismynewname123 · 19/08/2019 09:02

@ginyogarepeat I think you have the ones they call joggers. As @yellowsun says, the actual harems are new and only come in navy. I've never particularly liked the fabric of the joggers. The harems are much softer

OP posts:
QuickThinkOfAName · 19/08/2019 09:20

Nitgel - yup pretty sure I followed the washing instructions

It was the dress that ended it for me. £80 and it was so see through it was highly indecent and also weirdly lop sided. The left side hung above my ankle but the right side dragged on the floor.

If I pay 80 quid I expect better. That's all. Same for the trousers. I've had £20 Next tapered trousers for five years and the only reason they need replacing is the bastard moths have discovered it.

Musicforsnorks · 19/08/2019 09:36

Hush ones are thicker, more substantial, and a much better, more flattering fit, especially the legs. I would say more flattering to the arse also.

Next versions are ok, but nowhere near as decent as the hush one, which are thinner, less attention to body shape and shoddily knocked up, imo.

More expensive but they dont look ‘cheap’

And i dont like hush in general 😁

ginyogarepeat · 19/08/2019 11:44

@Thisismynewname123 - no, they're definitely harem - actually said that on the label! They're much better than the M&S plain navy harem trousers I got a few months ago. Don't wear them at all now as they just don't fit in the leg/bum as well as the next ones.

ginyogarepeat · 19/08/2019 11:45

.....but they are years old, not new so won't find them in next now.

ginyogarepeat · 19/08/2019 11:49

The label's very worn from 4 years and a lot of washes, but harem is there, very faintly.... they're definitely not the joggers. Very comfy, great fit and very soft material. Pic attached

Belindabelle · 19/08/2019 14:24

Oh lovely I hope they bring them out in a grey marl too.

shinynewapple · 20/08/2019 21:53

@Thisismynewname123 @ginyogarepeat

When Next harems came out about 4 years ago they were called 'harem'. Last year they changed the style slightly and renamed them 'joggers'. I much preferred the original harem ones. I believe that they have very recently reintroduced some called 'harem' which look from website as if they are different from the original harems. I haven't tried the new ones.

Alsohuman · 20/08/2019 22:22

I’ve got both and prefer Hush. I like the zips at the ankle and the cut’s better.

Lumene · 21/08/2019 00:23

How love my do the Hush ones come up? I’m 34 inch inside leg, 6ft tall

Lumene · 21/08/2019 00:23

Love?!? Long I meant!

BringMeTea · 21/08/2019 06:56

My hush harems don't have zips. Are pp referring to Amie joggers? Anyway thanks OP I will take a look at these Next ones.
