Has anyone had a facial mole removed?

I had a mole on my face ‘scraped’ off yesterday. All very quick and painless. Just wondering if anyone’s has the same and what kind of result you had? How long it took to heal? Any general tips?

I had one taken out with a hollowed needle.
it healed really quickly and no scar is visible.
it's important to protect the scar from uv light

That’s good to hear. Mine’s covered with a little sticky patch, I can take it off tomorrow. Bit nervous to see what’s underneath!

Hmmmim interested in getting this done. Did you do it privately or through NHS?

imalrightjack · 18/08/2019 15:28

Interested in this. I have a large one by my eye I would like removed.

I worked in a maxillofacial clinic and we'd do these all the time. Did they give you a cream to put over it? It's an eye cream but we use it on facial biopsies. If not put Vaseline over.

I had one shaved off like you op but after a while it started to grow again and I had to go back to get it cut / dug out from the roots so to speak

Following! I've got a few which I think age me now I'm approaching 40

For info-I had it done privately, the doctor used to be a gp but had retrained in dermatology. It cost £150, histology would have been an extra £80 but mine didn’t need it.

I was there for about 20 minutes but the procedure itself probably took 5-local anaesthetic, he then scraped it off with a scalpel and cauterised the wound, he said this would kill the cells and prevent the mole growing back.

I have to keep it dry for 2 days then apply Vaseline (from a new tin).

If anyone’s in or near Shropshire I can give you the clinic info.

Well that didn’t stop mine growing back op

Aqueo517 · 18/08/2019 15:51

There’s always a chance that will happen but he said the cauterisation should stop it.

I have. I used Dermatix on it and I have no scar at all.

I had mine done in London if anyone is looking for recommendations there.

I had a suspicious mole removed from my right cheek a few years ago by NHS surgeons. Perfect job, can barely see any scarring unless I was to look v hard for it.

Ive wanted my facial mole removed for years but never known how to go about it. I'm London based - any recommendations/prices? Thanks

georgialondon · 18/08/2019 16:36

In London I used Cosmedics Skin Clinics. I was very pleased with it. I honestly can't remember the price but the price is listed on its website.
