Birkies or Fitflops?

I'm off to Sicily soon and I need some new sandals for sightseeing. DH and I have had a tough couple of years where we haven't had any time for ourselves.

I'm tall, size 14-16, good legs. But having a bit of a crisis re 'styling' myself. I need sandals that I can wear comfortably during the day without looking like a total frump next to my impossibly slim and always elegant DH.

What can you suggest, ladies?

They are very different. I can’t wear the Birkenstocks. I find their contoured sole dreadfully uncomfortable. I like the cushioned base of fitflops.

See, I'm a Birkies girl and have walked all round Europe in them. I wear Mayari - slightly less ugly Then be a bit weird and uncomfortable on day one but persevere for a few hours and you'll never look back.

Similarly to Wolfiefan, I tried Birkies on and found them torturous.

I got myself a pair of FitFlops and spent my summer in them. They're incredibly comfy and make my back pain go away. To avoid looking too frumpy, I went with a leather pair in skin tone so they're quite subtle.

FitFlops for me.

Even better, Naot. But not easy to find.

My mum and MIL wear Fitflops.

I like Birkenstocks Arizonas. I have them in White, Brown and dusky pink. So comfortable.

Birkenstock's, definitely.

StCharlotte the deadline has certainly passed because I bought a pair for DH today in the sale!
