Conch Piercing

Has anyone had their conch pierced?

I had mine pierced on Saturday, and since Monday the pain has been awful! I have been taking pain relief, and have been back to the piercer to have it checked over, who says it is fine.

Does anybody have any experience of this piercing and how long the pain should last? I am so close to going to have it removed, as it just seems something isn't right.

I had my helix pierced previously and had no pain with that.

I do, I remember sitting in a meeting at work and it absolutely throbbing! If I remember it didn't take too long to stop hurting, a couple of days i think.
My helix hurt more than my conch!

No experience of having my conch pierced but have plenty of other parts of my ears pierced and this is next on my list. In my experience some places hurt more than others and healing time also varies, but the pain has never lasted for more than a week. Are you sleeping on the same side as your piercing? Is there anything catching it?

Thank you both for your replies.

I am thinking to give it a week, then see how I feel.

I haven't caught it on anything and have been avoiding sleeping on that side. It hurts when I smile, when I bend down, when I turn my head!

I have been woken by the pain the last two nights.

I literally cannot even touch the area around it without wincing - I've taken more pain relief for this than after my caesarean!!

I had mine done in January and it is still healing. It looks red fairly often but doesn't really hurt. I don't remember it hurting more than any other piercing at the beginning.

I had my conch done a year ago, I only find it hurts a bit if I sleep on it. Straight after it ached a bit the same afternoon but after that it went. I'd say it's only round about now it's fully healed. Let's see it 👀

Oh that sounds so painful OP! Hope you can stick with it and the pain subsides soon 🙂

It does feel less painful today so hopefully it's on the mend now, I just don't remember other piercings being so painful like PP says!

The jewelry is nothing special at the moment but once it's healed I'll be upgrading (with my usual piercer who I regret being disloyal to now!)!

Different people respond to pain differently. I thought my conch was one of the easier ear piercings for me but I know people who think it was their worst. Mine is mostly healed but it flares up occasionally. My triple forward helix on the other hand - no end of hassle!

Ear piercings can be fickle. Baby it. :)

Thank you for all your experiences everyone, feels a lot better now, so happy that I won't be taking it out!

Glad it is starting to feel better. I found mine much less painful than I though it would be. Only throbbed the first evening but often sore if I’d slept on it. Really turned a corner around the 4 month mark.

🤞🏼🤞🏼 for safe healing!!
