I never wear fancy stuff. I don’t own any.

Please can you wonderful people suggest an unfussy outfit?

It’s being held in a sort of country club so not overly formal

In the very rare occasion I wear dresses I wear stretchy jersey style cotton maxi but I haven’t seen anything suitable.

NOTHING IN RIGID FABRIC OR A BELTED WAIST PLEASE !

@clemfandango I LOVE that one. Do you have it ? And it really has a bit of a stretch ?

Try this company. I know you said not belted but some of the vintage waisted designs are very figure enhancing

*oh thanks for pointing that out.

I'm pretty sure anyone who has been or is a 24 is fully aware of that!!!

@cricketmum84* no nead to be nasty. I had a thread on here (different name) asking for shopping suggestions and I used to wear a size 24. All the mentions of Joules and Boden wasn't helpful since they didn't cater my size. Op says she's fat, I'm not saying it, she said it, so it isn't a weird question to ask what size she is before people suggest clothes that only go till a size 12.

angelinterceptor · 16/08/2019 13:24

following some of the suggestions on here - and don't want to hi-jack the thread @Shortfeet -
Yesterday I ordered from Scartlett & Jo on the suggestion of @Simkin I had never even heard of that brand or webstite (I dont get out much, and never really wear dresses or anything).

Received my order this morning - rushed home to try it on, and for a start it fits, and secondly its comfortable.

@Shortfeet sorry I completely forgot to come to this thread until now.
I do have it and it’s gorgeous, definitely has stretch and I wore a sparkly white block heel from very, I took flip flops with me though because my feet were screaming after an hour 😱🤦🏻‍♀️

www.johnlewis.com/jolie-moi-three-quarter-sleeved-lace-dress/red/p3711442 this from jolie moi might be suitable? I am very apple shaped and I find the wrap style quite flattering

BigGlasses · 16/08/2019 16:44

Just realised the one I posted wasn’t a wrap but I still think it would be flattering. I have this www.johnlewis.com/jolie-moi-tie-front-wrap-dress-pink-multi/p4143113 which hangs nicely
And I also like this www.johnlewis.com/jolie-moi-cap-sleeve-lace-dress-teal/p3869526 but personally stay away from cap sleaves as they don’t suit me

Bravissimo is your friend.

Shortfeet · 17/08/2019 17:23

@ClemDanFango THANK YOU ! I have bought your dress. It’s beautiful.

Thanks to everyone who helped with the hunt. Mumsnet is amazing 😉
