Big birthday - earrings?

I don't have/wear a lot of jewellery. I do have a pair of absolutely beautiful diamond studs that my DH bought for me which I love to wear on special occasions (they are a bit flash, not everyday).

I have a very big birthday coming up and I would like to get something I can keep forever. I am thinking another pair of earnings, but not diamond studs obviously.

I like pearl earrings but also at the same time I think they are a bit frumpy or a bit old fashioned. Having said that, I've seen a few pairs on other women and thought they looked very nice.

I am looking for something classic, that I can wear smart casual or when going out. Any recommendations as to pearls or other type of earring? I don't wear dangly earrings.

How about your birthstone? Mine is sapphire so I have some lovely studs and some small dangly ones that are a diamond suspending a sapphire. I also happen to wear lots of blue, so that helps!

I had sapphire studs for a significant birthday - I love blue and wear it a lot

I know you said not dangly but I also had sone diamond channel set small hoops and wear those all the time

Ah Bea, snap! My ‘day’ earrings are London Road diamond & rose gold ‘huggies’ which I highly recommend if you don’t like drops, but want something practical (that you can sleep in) but nice.
