Quality beach towels

Has anybody bought any really good quality beach towels recently? I spotted some on sale in Sainsbury's & Dunhelm but they were a bit thin and cheap looking tbh.
I've also seen people using very thin, cloth like towels in the beach (are these called Turkish towels?) Does anyone have any of these (I read on MN once that they were amazing)?

I bought some earlier this year in Costco, really thick and good quality and about £12 I think. They're big too. Not sure if they still have them, but if you have one near you I'd keep an eye out next spring/summer.

I've just bought from Dock and Bay. Their XL are massive, dry really quick, sand doesn't stick and they fold up tiny in your suitcase

We like Dock and Bay too. Not your soft, snug towels but they are huge & fold up tidy and dry super quick. Pretty colours too!

If you are going abroad but then over there. I've always found the beach towels in resort to be cheaper than at home and very good quality.

Hammam towels are the thin Turkish style ones you describe - they’re brilliant because although thin they’re really absorbent, dry quickly and take up hardly any luggage space. I’ve bought some lovely ones from Rituals recently but also in the past have found some in TKMaxx for about £10 each.

I bought some from Costco and they are great. They're thick and a good size for beach or pool.

Airline baggage restrictions and people wanting as much capacity as possible for other things in their luggage has meant that the demand is for thinner not thicker.

If you want thick, look at bath towels.

I got some of the Turkish towels from Amazon. They were around £30 for 5, I think. They're great, so much lighter and really quick to dry. They're like giant tea towels 😁

Hammam towels are lovely and so easy to wash and dry. Can’t recommend them highly enough. No more dealing with bales of towels on holiday. I use them when visiting the local pool too.
Amazon have a good selection.

Ps. Less bulky in the suitcase, just roll up and they are so soft on the skin.

I've just bought ones from M&S which were on offer BOGO 1/2 price. They're really soft and the colours are vibrant.
