Size 16 and short, would any shorts suit me?

Just that really. Off on holiday and have a few dresses but will be doing a bit of walking too. Are there any style of shorts that could look a little less awful? I've tried just above the knee denim, smarter cotton in similar length and shorter more tailored ones. All look pretty awful.
Please help!

Next boy shorts... I think they are considered universally flattering. I'm a short 18-20 and prior to those wouldnt have been seen dead in shorts. You may need to size down as they do give after a few wears

There are 2 types but I cant find the link to the ones I bought but mine arent that short at all. Above the knee but reasonable. I can PM a photo if that's any help

I came on to recommend the same shorts. I’m 5’4” and a wobbly apple shaped 16 and have two pairs. They’re really comfy and flattering. I have the dark denim and the blue stripe. I got into the 14s due to vanity sizing as well - hurrah!

OP they’re short but seem to sit at a flattering length. They’ll be longer on you than on the catalogue model.

I'm a 14/16 and short. I bought some khaki chino type ones from M&S. I think they look OK on me

They're no where near as short on me as they look on the model

I have the Next boy shorts too, they’re great. I have them in the tall length. I also have the Next denim knee shorts which are better for day trips/exploring I think, particularly if you’re going somewhere where you want to feel respectful, eg churches.

I'm 12/14 and short. I also have those M&S chino ones in navy and they look good.

Thanks for all the suggestions - sounds like the next ones are definitely worth a try (you look great in them fanfucgintastic) and also really like the m&s ones. Ordering now!
