Brown knee boots - how to wear

Hi

I have some brown knee boots. I wear them with jeans and jeggings but how else can I wear them?

They look nice with tea dresses but I want to wear them with dresses in the winter.

What colour tights should I wear? Would black look stupid?

They are chocolate brown.

Yes, black tights look awful with brown boots. But then I think nude tights look pretty awful too. I think this is one of the reasons I barely wear my (very nice) chocolate brown boots any more. They just dont work with anything other than over blue skinnies.

Navy opaque? Obviously the dress colour would need to suit navy.

Personally I wear black tights with brown boots in the winter. I think it works just fine. I also like jewel colour knitted/cable tights. Depending on the colour of the whole outfit of course.

Depends on the dress. Mostly navy dress - navy tights. Mustard/ green dress, brown tights. Aubergine/ teal dress - aubergine tights.

Black tights with a black-ish dress? With brown boots? Wouldn't work for me.

Grey opaques work well - they're less of a contrast than black.
