Trainers to wear with dresses etc

Sorry if this has been done to death but I'm a size 8 and looking for a different look to dresses with fitflops! I didn't want something too clunky....

size 8 shoes, size 14/16 body...

Converse look the best, and they last for ages so good value. They are very flat though, so it depends if you need some cushioning.

Yep I second converse but I also have some Adidas originals that look fine with day dresses

I've been wearing Stan Smiths, after saying for ages that they are ugly!

I have gold reebok classics.

Those trainers are not made of leather. They look nice but your feet are going to get quite hot and sweaty

So we are saying Converse then? I've seen lots of pics of bigger trainers, is that a thing now?

I hate Converse, personally, hard and uncomfortable!

Yes, I wear converse occasionally with dresses. Whatever make you choose Just make sure they’re the ‘full’ ones - cover your whole foot at the top, the other kind are naff

I find leather Converse much more comfortable than the canvas ones. These days, I generally want something with more padding though. You could maybe try converse with a squishy insole inserted, if you like the look of them.

I’ve just bought the Superga ones you linked to for the same reason. Also I’m usually an 8 (42) but 41 fitted me fine.

They’re these ones. They’re gold but not too sparkly. You may well need to size down as Superga tend to come up big. I’m usually a 5 but have these in a 4.5.

Is the superga really comfy? I have plantar fasciitis, I am forever looking for a trainer that is nice enough to wear on a informal night out.

A lot of people are wearing Nike airforce 1s with dresses.

@LatteLove were you happy with them, I'm just about to purchase, but couldn't decide between that and Converse

I have the Superga. They do an identical white leather version which is wipe clean and more practical imo.

If you don’t want them to clunky go for dainty converse

I've been wearing Nike Air Force 1, very comfortable and approved by teenagers I work with if you're bothered about being fashionable

I’ve got Reebok classics in pearly white, gold, Rose gold, they’re all lovely and simple.

I bought Supergra too but chose the iridescent ones and they’re made out of a horrible thin plastic-y material that makes a crinkly sound when you walk, they’re awful and so uncomfortable but I left it too late to return them. Shame as they were quite expensive too. Maybe I’ll ebay them.

I’ve bought some white scallop edge leather converse to wear with dresses. They’re so comfy and I’ve had loads of comments on them.
