Anyone else struggle with smelly shoes in summer!

Agh this is gross, but I surely can't be the only one?! I find that in summer time when I'm not wearing socks with shoes (sandals, ballet pumps, flats etc) my shoes just get sweaty and smelly! Am I missing a trick here? Is there something that can stop this happening? I've tried buying the little socklets but haven't found any that you can't see under pumps and flats.
(I do wash every day- sometimes twice a day before anyone suggests that!

Scholl gel insoles (get the flat shoe ones not the ones for heels). Will allow you to easily clean and freshen the shoes and will make the shoes more comfortable too!

Baking soda. Try it!

Another poster posted about this a few weeks back and I suggested this, as my family have always done with their trainers/shoes. It really works.

Shoe spray like Odor Eaters.
Or bicarb of soda works well sprinkled in your shoes after wearing.

Put your shoes in the freezer overnight. Kills the bacteria causing the smell.
Also works on clothes too, has helped me get cigarette smoke out of dry clean only stuff when I need the item again and haven't had time to dry clean it Smile

Spray antiperspirant between your toes. Helps with pongy shoes

Definitely use bicarbonate of soda in the shoes, sprinkled generously and then emptied the next day. It removes the smells engrained into the shoes.

I have about three million pairs of shoes and ONE pair of trainers has a smell problem. They’re Skechers with memory foam insoles and they stink despite being washed, put in the freezer, sprayed with smelly shoe spray, filled with bicarb etc etc. I can’t figure it out. And I (honestly) don’t have smelly feet at all.

I’d chuck them but they’re lovely flowery ones!
