Recommendations for a dewy full coverage foundation?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a full coverage glowy/ dewy look foundation?

I like full coverage because of my acne scars but I don't really like a matte finish. I find it makes my skin look dry, dull and also seems to settle into fine lines.
Also do you put powder over the dewy foundation and does this make it look matte?

Thank you!

I've been on the same quest as you and my favourites are:

  • Hourglass Hylauronic Skin Tint
  • Laura Mercier Lumiere Foundation

The Hourglass is probably slightly fuller coverage, but the Laura Mercier comes in more shades.

Both are a dewy finish. I hate a matte finish as I think it tends to look cakey and just emphasises imperfections.

I set them with Laura Mercier translucent setting powder which has a lovely luminescent finish.

Thank you so much @StuntCroissant. I will definitely try those ones out! I was looking at the Mercier one so might try that one first Smile
I think it's difficult because the 'dewy' look compromises the coverage somehow... maybe!

Yes that's it - much easier to get full coverage with a matte finish. If you have oily skin you may need to re-apply a dewy foundation after lunch when oil production peaks, but a good primer and setting powder will help!

I love it cosmetics cc cream. Really good coverage and super glowey.

High street alternative is Maybelline Dream Urban Cover - I actually prefer it to IT Cosmetics! It’s such good value and the finish is great - good coverage but glowy.

Oh and I powder with either Becca Be a light palette or Laura Mercier translucent powder glow - both of which require just a small amount and last really well. Use a normal setting powder under my eyes and in nose creases to set concealer though, applied with a small fluffy brush.

I absolutely love the Laura Geller Balance and Brighten foundation powder over the top of a lighter coverage foundation.
I also like the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk when my budget can stretch to it!
I was finding full coverage foundations too mask like and they were sitting funny in the creases of my eyes and around my nose.

Nars does a great one but honestly, I find that full coverage dewy foundation always always transfers (hands, clothes, keyboard etc) and never lasts. Set with powder and it becomes a matte foundation.

NB GA luminous silk is not full coverage nor is IT cosmetics Cc cream

I mix a tiny amount of nars coppacabana highlighter into my foundation for a dewy effect. Pricey but lasts ages and is versatile.

I use max factor facefinity after trying lots of more premium products. Doubles up as concealer and primer so you only need the one product. I set it with powder and it lasts all day without being cakey.

Vichyderm compact foundation gives full but dewy coverage (from the skincare aisles at Boots) and can be built up where needed. I then finish it with NYX dewy finishing spray.

Figroll16 · 09/08/2019 14:32

Fenty's new first foundation comes out next weekend - supposed to same full coverage as the original pro filter one but with dewy finish.

Seconding the IT Cosmetics CC Cream. Theres an illuminating version but tbh you don't need it as the regular version is not matte.

The one caveat is that it's best to get shade matched on a counter with that one. The shade range is American and skews slightly different.

East7thst · 09/08/2019 15:04

Another vote for IT Cosmetics, I got the illuminating one.

It was the best foundation ive ever used. It looked like 'my skin' only amazing hahaha. great staying power and also great for your skin as well

fiorentina · 09/08/2019 15:50

I went into Space NK to get the Laura Mercier one but came out with a Becca one which is great - good coverage and a nice healthy glow. Expensive (by my standards) but has lasted well so far.

shopalotalot · 09/08/2019 17:58

I think you will find that it cosmetics is full coverage, or as full as you would ever want it to be.

Flakeyface · 09/08/2019 18:15

It cosmetics CC Creme - I like the illuminating one although some people find it a bit sparkly. Tarte facetape moisturimg is dewy. Truly full coverage dewy ones are rare

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 09/08/2019 18:22

Try Shiseido Syncro Skin Glow or even Syncro Skin, it might be a bit on medium coverage side but it layers nicely and they do a lot of colours. It's really good stuff.

Craftycorvid · 09/08/2019 18:29

Following with interest! I have mixed a bit of ‘nanoblur’ in with foundation or moisturiser and it’s good but can look a little chalky if you overdo it.
