Isle of Eden tanning drops - am I stupid?

It says add 1-12 drops to moisturiser. Fine. But how much moisturiser?? A bottle? A handful? A 10p sized amount? I have googled and can’t find anything to tell me. Vaguest instructions ever.

It’s just the usual amount you would apply. Start with 1 and then when you have seen how that looks, you can progress to 2

I've bought the Isle of Paradise drops, which i think are the same thing. I used a total of 10-12 drops on my whole body (couldn't reach my back though). So I put enough moisturiser for one whole leg in my palm, and though, ooh, that's about a quarter or my body, so I added three drops. Did exactly the same with the other leg. Then about 2-3 drops plus a dollop of moisturiser for my torso. Then about 2-3 drops plus a dollop of moisturiser for my arms.

Thanks very much for the help. Yes it’s the isle of paradise drops - no idea where I got Eden from.

I used them the other night. Great for the face but I’ve never had such a patchy fake tan on my body and I thought I’d applied it really carefully and thoroughly.

How long does it take for the tan to show? I just did my legs, 5 drops per leg, and I can't see a difference yet...

Jumblebee · 08/08/2019 09:08

I had to up mine to 7 drops per body part and use less moisturiser. The first time I used it I used 5 per body part and the only difference I noticed was in my face. New way has worked much better but my legs are still paler than the rest of me (ginger skin that is resistant to colour!!)

Second time round I forgot to wash my hands after so they are RIDICULOUS 😭

FlukeSkyeRunner · 08/08/2019 09:12

Jumble do the effects show up immediately? If they're going to show at all!

Olajs · 08/08/2019 09:34

I left mine on overnight and the colour change was very noticeable by the morning. Did it a few hours before I went to bed and there was nothing to see by the time I went to sleep. So bloody patchy though.

I haven't tried Isle of Paradise, but I don't get on with tanning drops at all. Have tried various, including Clarins, which gets rave reviews. They always look patchy, and it's a pain trying to mix them with moisturiser to get exactly the same concentration of fake-tan, so you don't end up with one leg darker than the other.

FlukeSkyeRunner · 08/08/2019 09:42

I'll be anxiously checking my legs every few minutes for the next 24 hours... 😂

TwattingDog · 08/08/2019 09:43

I do brilliantly with the Clarins drops. Massive exfoliation in the shower with the Clarins bamboo scrub, that seems to be what has stopped me being patchy.

I also do each limb separately, and put the same number of drops in for each one! That seems to work well as it's easier to gauge the amount of moisturiser needed for a leg or an arm. Or my face.

magicstar1 · 08/08/2019 10:56

I tried a small area a few nights ago - 10p size moisturiser with 4 drops. Nothing happened. So I tried again 10p blob with 10 drops - still nothing?? Am I just immune to colour...anyone had the same?

Jumblebee · 08/08/2019 11:52

Fluke it took about an hour for the colour to develop and seemed to get darker throughout the day, I got quite a shock when I looked in the mirror last night 😲

FlukeSkyeRunner · 09/08/2019 08:28

Well there's perhaps a very marginal change in the colour of my legs... Perhaps! Just done a second application with seven drops per leg this time. Hoping they will look a bit less anaemic this time... I went for the 'light' version of the drops as my colouring is very pale. Maybe I should have gone for medium instead.

cheesenpickles · 09/08/2019 08:40

Make sure you dry brush off your elbows and knees when you do it. I was really impressed with the results but those areas went all weird and patchy for me.

Ellapaella · 09/08/2019 16:18

I got the isle of paradise ones. Took about 6 hours to develop and I think they come up quite orange. There are much better fake tans out there - Bondi Sands has a much nicer colour, Olive rather than orange.

FlukeSkyeRunner · 11/08/2019 08:13

Turns out I'm a seven-drops-per-leg girl 😊
