I really want to buy one for camping in europe next week, and I will deffo use it on the school run as I often have nowhere to put my keys and dont really care what I look like, but can I wear it on other occasions too? commute on the train? meals/drinks with dh?

Two in my purview at the moment

www.marksandspencer.com/faux-leather-bum-bag/p/p60256831

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004CEU6D6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&psc=1&tag=mumsnetforu03-21

the former being a bit "smarter" and the latter a bit more sporty/camping

Views? or recommendations?

Thanks!

If it's something you particular want I'd say yes to the marks and Spencer's for camping/school run and noooo to the amazon

I wouldn't use it for anything more dressy or formal like meals/drinks ect

no to the Amazon, yes to the M&S in plain black, not keen on the animal print. Saw quite a few nice ones in Primark recently some really quite smart looking and under a tenner. Don't like the sporty ones unless you are walking for leisure or taking dog etc don't think they are smart enough for drinks out etc

Op, have a look on the Eastpak website they have a load of different designs and a lot of them are in the sale at the moment. I just got one for £18 reduced from £30 for my holiday next week.

RezCowgirl · 04/08/2019 22:30

I've got a black leather similar to the M&S one. It's easy to wear for smart occasions and hiking/camping type days but I don't think you'd be able to smarten up the eastpak one.

You're not going to actually wear it as a bumbag though, are you? (that's a big no-no). They're only acceptable if they're draped over one shoulder.

If you want something that actually goes around your waist, it should be a waist belt bag rather than a bum bag.
