M&S ultra low cut footsies

I was thinking of getting some of these to wear with ballet slipper type shoes in the summer, and I was just wondering if anyone had tried them and could report on whether they're worth buying? Whenever I've had similar things in the past, they've never stayed put, and I've ended up with a useless lump of bunched-up nylon under each foot. I just wanted to know if they're any good before I spend £6 on them.

Thanks!

I bought some for my DD but she didn't like them. She much prefers Primark ones . DD has size 6 quite narrow feet

But she is 17 so maybe she translate M&S as being somewhere her Mother shops ?

(She'll go with Beauty and Veggie Colin sweets though.....)

buggerthebotox · 04/08/2019 17:18

I've got some. They've got a kind of squidgy bit on the heel which is supposed to keep them in place.

Unfortunately I've got little feet and the smallest size was too big and I end up with a bunched bit outside my shoe at the ankle.

They're a slight improvement on my usual "no shows" and they're cotton.

hotcrossbun4321 · 04/08/2019 17:49

My experience is that the quality is crap! My toes went through the seams after a couple of wears of the flesh-toned ones, and the black ones fell apart at the seams. Shame as they are more 'invisible' than the cheaper ones

Missingthesea · 04/08/2019 17:50

I have some and they're the only ones I've tried that have stayed in place.

Littlepic · 04/08/2019 18:00

I have several pairs and they work perfectly and have never slipped.

CheckingOutTheQuantocks · 04/08/2019 18:02

Hmm. If only they were a bit cheaper! £6 is a lot for two pairs if they're not well-made or they slip down.

I think I'll get some anyway and see. I have some pvc ballet slippers which I've more or less given up wearing because they make loud farting noises when I walk, and if these footsies make any difference to that, they'll be worth the money.

These are the best ones I have found

The Primark ones are good - I do a lot of walking. They stay up unlike basically everything else I've tried that isn't a long sock. I bought some black lace ones and they're very pretty too.

tierraJ · 04/08/2019 18:51

Primark sports footies for £3.50 are what you want

Proudpeacock · 04/08/2019 19:01

I have found that they do stay on well and can't be seen but they are quite thin so already have holes in the toes.

CheckingOutTheQuantocks · 04/08/2019 19:14

Are the Primark ones as low cut as these, though? The shoes I want them for are very low in front and almost everything I've seen would probably show.

hopeishere · 04/08/2019 20:35

I agree they definitely stay put but get holes at the toes quite easily.

derryrose · 04/08/2019 20:36

Primark lace ones are the only ones that stay on my feet. They are quite low cut and as they are lacy i don't mind if a tiny bit shows.

TellerTuesday4EVA · 04/08/2019 20:36

I second @tierraJ my life has been changed by the primark sports ones

dudsville · 04/08/2019 21:32

The best I've found were in tkmaxx, called something like maryline monroe. They are like strong tight material, in nudes and black, some with a cotton base. I've tried so many, these are the only ones that work for me.

VeThings · 04/08/2019 21:38

They’re good for staying on feet and not showing at all.

I got so excited by finding socks that stay on, I bought them in black, white and grey.

But now the toes are starting to go after only a few wears, so I feel like I’ve wasted a load of money.

I don’t know why M&S has made them so thin where toes go. There is some thicker material at top, I don’t know why they haven’t just run this down the sole to make them more robust.

CheckingOutTheQuantocks · 04/08/2019 22:03

I might try the Primark ones first, since they're a better price and apparently wear better. Thanks for the suggestions, everyone.

I've got the M&S ones! They're great, for about 3 washes, then the grippy but kind of washes off and they're rubbish!

lalafafa · 04/08/2019 22:08

I’ve had both, save your money and get the Primark ones.

SaxxedtotheMax · 04/08/2019 22:09

Another vote for Primark lace ones.

I have black & pink. They are fab.

After I wasted so much money on Next, Sainsburys, Tesco, M&S Hmm

SecretLimonadeDrinker · 04/08/2019 22:10

If the toes are starting to go can you paint with nail varnish to prolong them? We used to do that with tights that started to ladder (only on a place that couldn't be seen).

CheckingOutTheQuantocks · 06/08/2019 11:29

Hey everyone, so I got the Primark lace ones, and so far I am very happy with them. They stay put, they prevent the shoes from rubbing, and they do reduce the farty noises too. The trade-off is that they're not low-cut enough for these shoes so they do show at the front. Tbh I think that if they were any lower, they wouldn't stay on. At least you can choose different colours to coordinate with the shoes, and the lace detail doesn't look too bad.

Bluebell9 · 06/08/2019 11:37

You can get really really low cut ones in Primark too. I've got the normal one for trainers and the really low cut ones for ballet pumps.

seven201 · 06/08/2019 12:07

The M&S ones are the only ones that stay on my fit perfectly. I love them. I think it depends on the shape of your foot. I'm a wide 6.5

CheckingOutTheQuantocks · 06/08/2019 15:07

I'm a size 6, but my feet are not wide. They're the only part of me that isn't, truth be told. I've been wearing the lace ones all day with a bit showing, and really my look is not so polished and put together that a bit of visible footsie will ruin it, so I think I will just live with it...
