Best moisturiser, primer, foundation for oily skin?

Hi,
Just looking for some advice.
Currently use smashbox pore minimising primer and Estée Lauder double wear but it just slides off my oily t zone in a few hours! It’s becoming so embarrassing since summer started as it’s so much worse!

Can anyone recommend a good moisturiser, primer, full coverage long lasting foundation for oily skin with quite large pores?
Thanks!

I really like Lush’s Enzymion moisturiser. I use it with the tea tree solid cleanser and cosmetic warrior face mask around my oily bits (I have seborrhoeic dermatitis and it’s been a recent revelation that those scaly areas are in fact oily - I always assumed they were dry). The above products are working a treat.

Do you powder (or otherwise set your base) after applying foundation? That might help you to be able to use up your current products. I like Laura Mercier or Boots No7 loose powders, which I sort of polish into my oily skin with a powder puff (from NYX) to avoid the floury look Smile

Do you use a harsh cleanser, face wash or toner that strips your skin of oils? This will encourage your skin to go into replacement mode and start pumping even more oil out, so you're stuck in a cycle of stripping, then over producing oil.

My skin used to be really oily, but now I use gentler products so my skin is more balanced and my make up lasts all day. Try an oil based cleanser, hydrating toner and gentle moisturiser; this will stop the cycle of oil overproduction and provide a solid base for your make up.

For a primer I really rate The Ordinary silicone primer.

I use a Collection primer which is cheap as chips but very mattifying and then Benefit Hello Flawless powder foundation on top. I also use a fixing spray which really helps keep everything matte all day. I have incredibly oily skin but glad to say it's paying off at last as I'm mid 40s with very few wrinkles!

Dr hauschka clarifying day oil, instead of moisturiser. I don't know what does it, but it really does seem to actually reduce oiliness. I also use a very fine dusting of mineral veil/setting powder between skin and primer, and primer and foundation, then a bit on top to set it too. I like to use a little NYX matte setting spray to finish it off too.

Thanks so much for everyone’s replies!
I don’t currently use powder, was put off it years ago by someone telling me I looked 90 years old when wearing it! But I’ll definitely try it again as I expect it’s much better now than 10+ years ago!

I’ll definitely check out oil based cleansers too!

Thanks! 😀
